Lots of good feedback from last week, so I figured I’d do another for this week. Enjoy the read boys and girls! Predictions will be at the end. Gonna do quick write ups for the first 4 in each group considering that’s who advances. Group A: 1. Poland 14-3-1 Just like last week we got Poland just absolutely killing it in group A. They’ll score goals on you, the defense will clamp you, and their goalies are brick walls. They pass a ton, and play to their strengths. They have the 2nd best PP% at 31% and the best PK% at 92.3%. Their centers also are menaces at faceoffs leading the rest of the teams at FO% at 57%. Notable Players: FWD: @PeskyBugbear 11G 11A @lietuenantdan20 8G 14A Defense: @Posted Alone 0G 8A @o Black Fire x 2G 4A Goalie: @JimboSpikes SV% .824 GAA 2.24 @Ibleedblue636 SV% .814 GAA 2.53 2. Switzerland 9-5-4 Glad switz decided to pick it up this week. They buried the goals to end games in regulation. Which definitely was an issue the first week with losing 3 OT games. They’re going into their series with best PP% at 37.2%. I wouldn’t want to take a penalty against these guys. They also have the 3rd best PK% at 81.3%. The potential with this team is there just have to execute and take the opportunities that are given to you ladies and gentlemen. Notable Players: FWD: @PatrikLainel29l 12G 5A @Sean Sal3565 10G 3A Defense: @SNP Frank 93 0G 5A @LividPenguin663 0G 3A Goalie: @SaltyKitten8566 SV% .800 GAA 2.74 @Billy Smith x31 SV% .793 GAA 2.84 3. Japan 9-6-3 Things really start to get interesting at this point. I challenged their defense to step up after week 1. They definitely stepped it up. This is my 2nd favorite roster still. If they got it done in those 3 OT games week 1 they would definitely be in a better shape to advance 2nd round. They have the worst PP% of the teams at that are in the bracket at 20.1%. Gonna need to improve on that during tournament play. Use those gold 1T and heat seeker perks boys. Also, need more out of wade he’s a great goalie. I’ve seen him play lights out. Those 3 loses might hurt them. Look forward to watching this series between them and Jamaica. Ukraine 10-8-0 Ukraine took a huge dip going 3-6 this week. Definitely did not expect that at all from these guys. Half of their loses were one goal games. Not sure happened to this guys, but they definitely need to get back to their week 1 habits to beat USA. Notable Players: FWD: @Prowsey8 9G 9A @Caboose35 6A 9A Defense: @NotoriousFAT 00 1G 4A @TheCoyDuck 0G 4A Goalies: @xPainKillerz SV% .826 GAA 2.44 @thunderchunk 33 SV% .821 GAA 2.88 GROUP B 1. USA 16-2-0 Not gonna say much about them because again, their my team. 2. Jamaica 11-5-3 There’s a reason why I put these guys at 3rd last week in my power rankings. Jamaica’s mangers adapted. They noticed what to change, changed it and saw success. Beating USA 8-4 was a great feeling in that locker room I bet. They have the second most Goals scored for a reason. They’ll score on you and quickly. Love to see it men and women. Keep it up, and you’ll advance to next round. They definitely need to watch the penalties though. Canada 10-6-2 The Canadians definitely proved me wrong here last week going 6-3 on a much better week than the first. Very happy with their play I did get to watch a few games, and I can say they definitely learned to play with each better. They’re going to have their hands full with playing Switzerland. Another series I’m looking forward to watching. I’d be embarrassed) SV% 819 GAA 2.15 @ChelSnipes SV% .800 GAA 2.87 4. Great Britain What can I say honestly. Was a tough battle for that last spot. Personally I think Norway would’ve been the better fit here. I congratulate GB though. I did find some time to watch some of their Tuesday night games, and it was nothing to take lightly. They played very well. I predicted that Tavares line was going to perform and they for sure did. Of course they have a very big obstacle in their way of advancing with that being Poland. Poland is just gonna be too much for GB. They’re going to score a bunch of goals, and it’s not going to be much of a contest. GB may take one game if they’re lucky, but I highly doubt it. Poland in 4 Next we have Japan VS Jamaica. Very interesting series. I need Jamaica to dominate like they did in the second week. If they don’t, we could see an upset. I’m not predicting that they flop going into this series although. Jamaica in 6. Can’t forget what I think what is going to be the best series in the first round, Switzerland VS Canada. This is going to be a lot of fun. If you’re on Poland after your potential sweep, I’d turn this series on. Going to be a lot of fun to watch. Switzerland in 7. Im not predicting my own teams series. Im sorry fellow Americans. Maybe some other guys will throw their predictions in for us. I’m sorry I’m not doing all the teams this time. I just don’t see it necessary. Pretty upset Norway couldn’t figure it out. They definitely had the pieces, but unfortunately I think they had avail issues. Going to end on that note here.
