The problem with baseball leagues/games is always connection. Unlike Madden or NHL, in baseball the SLIGHTEST amount of lag can ruin the whole game. Hopefully the PSN keeps improving.
I still like the idea of a DD based league. The franchise mode league would require a tournament of some sort because I guarantee more than 30 will want in. That's not what LG is about. They cater to large amounts of players. You want your hardcore league just run it through skype like you already do. There needs to be a way to cater to 100+ players. It makes sense to use DD until there is a better way to format the franchise mode.
You can have both! But that would take away from all the attention the hockey leagues need, so disregard.
damn, would love to try and get something together for 17 if possible. There is definitely enough people who play this game on the website.
lets aim to get this going for 17.... I call dibs on The Blue Jays .. I know , I know ... I can`t do that.
MLB League have always been tough to get enough interest. The game is amazing, however, the online play makes it super difficult. Even still, I would very much be interested in a league.
Would need to start planning soon (within the next month) to ensure we are ready to take off come release date.
I bit the bullet and just bought a PS4. While it was mainly to play The Show, I also love the other PS exclusives like Last of Us and the Uncharted series.
The problem with online franchise is you have to waste time developing players and most of the time not getting to play with whoever you want. However, your right this mode has got to be used and theres a few ways to enhance it to where it can capture a non online franchise audience. The primary way is to custom build rosters. Fantasy draft is time consuming but if you cap the amount of participants to fifteen and give each owner two mlb rosters to build off of for example
I agree with ya on this, would just add to it and do seperate leagues such as they do with hockey. For example you start out in single-a and need to work your way up to mlb. could even break this down into season format
This is exactly right. the good news is LG has the capability of sorting large amounts of people in different leagues and still offer them the personal experience(stat tracking, playing for prestige, etc)that most LG members desire. I'm relatively new so i'm only familiar with the hockey side of lg at the moment but its quite impressive how they can handle volume. So Tris is right about the online franchise mode not bein a viable option. The way I see it DD is the only route to take. However you can not jam 400 people into one league and have the top 20 grinding games to earn a playoff spot or what have you. Fortunately baseball has already shown us the way. From single-a to the majors each has its own talent levels and players want to move up to the show. I'd suggest a system reliant on player status. Status can earn you the right to move up and it also gets rid of the problem of league dropout. In addition, you go with 4 leagues(Single-A through MLB) with events mixed in such as World Baseball Invitational per se or an All star weekend mega tourney. Either way the show needs to release already. With all that being said its important to understand theres a couple problems. One is that DD has features being put in this year so we're not exactly sure what we're working with just yet. The other problem I see is not knowing the amount of people who will come to LG for baseball. By the way daddyleagues is not hosting mlb anymore making it a great time for LG to push on the show!
