In my loads of spare time, ive been doing some thinking about this league and its scoreboard and i have got some good idea?s. I will probably create a brand new engine behind it that will make the NHL scoreboard look like piss. Since it seems football is the most popular sport in america, i really want a top+notce scoreboard and since we are a small league here i wanted to listen to the community before i sit down and design it. So my question to you guys is what do you want to see? What do you like or dont like, what kinda stats and averages? LEts get the ball going...
Standings: Team, owner (both hyperlinked to their team page and profile, like the NHL scoreboard) Wins Loses Ties points for per game (PF/G) points against per game (PA/G) streak For the stats page: Season total individual leaders (maybe top 5-10?): QB rating Rushing yards Receiving yards Team stats: Rushing yards per game (offense and defense) Passing yards per game (offense and defense) Total yards per game (offense and defense) I'd look here for more stats you could add: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/statistics I just put these up as absolute minimum must-have stats. There's alot more we could pile on, depending on how much stuff you want in the calculator. Since it's only a 16 game season, there's only 8 games that you'd have to enter stuff into the calculator (assuming the home team always does it). Since it's so short, I think we can expect a beefer calculator without too much resistance from the league. In hockey, it took way too much time to do individual stats for each player, especially with a long season and long playoffs, but with football it wouldn't be that bad with only 16 games. I'd come up with something now, and then we'll see how the game presents the stats page (so you can design and rearrange the calculator to make it easier to input w/o having to jump around on the stats page).

I wish I still had 2k3 now so that I could go back and look and see what was there before.
I was reading a magazine the other night and they were compairing all the football games coming out this year. They compaired them on everything and the in the stat dept. ESPN football will have something like 300 trackable stat catagories. I will have to pull out the magazine and make sure on this thou
yeah it was kind of cool if i remeber correctly espn football will have the most stats, and most plays. They are going to have a whopping 500 plays compared to madden having like 240 offensive and 140 defensive. When I get home tonight I will post the comparison between ESPN, Madden, and NFL Fever.
For stats we will definatly need to record rushing yards and passing yards. Everything else was already said. If I think of anything else I will post it.
