If toxic players killed games, Rocket League, CS:GO, CoD, LoL, etc, etc. would all be dead. The game isn't as fun anymore. The good players are still good and avoid blaming the game for losses, but if it was more fun and there was something to play for it would be popular.

Again, we are trying to create that "something to play for" with ESHL, but people like yourself are too salty to see how good that is for the community. I don't understand what you're trying to argue against ESHL when it does everything that made club in last gen NHL so good (besides the gameplay aspect). We're promoting staying together as one club, we're providing something worthwhile to play for, and still making it so that newer teams don't waste their money.

So exactly what are you arguing?

I actually fully understand what you're trying to create but the way you go about it is horribly wrong. Your plan alienates the majority of the community and you're actually just going to make the current problems worse.

I've had a number of conversations throughout this season with staff members about the current LG model because I think it fails the community, hard. But I think the ESHL model is even worse. You're essentially trying to charge people for the privilege of losing to the same 1-2 teams in every ESHL season (or tournament). That's a terrible method to grow the community and/or push for competition in the community.

Odds are you're probably just going to push even more people out of the community by beating up on them after taking their money.

and now your plan to divide the community by trying to get people to choose LG or ESHL, it's insanely short sighted.

It really doesn't bother me what you guys try to do... but if I don't voice my opinion, how am I going to say I told you so when it flops? :)

You also have this bad habit of comparing NHL to world-wide titles with massive... I mean massive communities.
NHL is primarily North American and one of the smaller North American Sports games. Comparing it to those communities in ANY way is a waste of time.

Of course it's going to take more toxic to kill that community. We're a little tiny community wit ha lot of toxic, ewe gon' die faster.

This is where the ignorance is showing lol. We have discussed openly about separating the top teams from the lower tier teams. Invite/open and if we get more teams we can expand more. Different buy-ins and different prizes and the chance to move up if you're team ends up being good enough.

It isn't ignorance, it's experience. What you're saying is dandy on paper but it's not that simple.

What happens when you cut down your top tier? There's going to a new top/bottom tier within that top tier. So the top 10 team that was 20-9 when the shitters were around is suddenly 2-14. What happens when a top tier team is suddenly 2-14? Do you think they'll be gracious losers or do you think we'll see people quitting or going inactive when they realize they're the bottom tier of the top tier?

You need a little more critical thinking here.

People quitting is not the fault of league structure especially when you make it so that the talent is separated. If they go 2-22 they have a chance to still go win money in open the next season. If they don't want to play because they're in open, again, not a fault of the league.

You're spewing ignorance all over this thread and its embarrassing. I'd love to hear your ideal format that solves everything.

Saying that every time someone disagrees with your view points doesn't make you right. Especially when you say it after misrepresenting what I said and ignoring the actual point.

Ideal format suggests perfect world which is easy to poke holes in lol
I like a lot of ideas from both but I think both are flawed, 1 more than the other.

For example: I like the idea of promotion demotion. I like the idea of trades but also like the idea of teams staying together for multiple seasons. I like the idea of players and owners having more say for who they play with but don't like the idea of alienating the vast majority of the league. I don't think people should be spending money on this while it's in its trial phase. If you are going to use promotion/demotion, it would be a lot easier to place teams where they should be if they aren't spending money to find out they're way over their head.

Well when all you do is criticize without posting anything constructive its pointless and comes off like you don't know shit. We know what teams will be able to compete against 11 other tops teams. NHL 18 is very similar to 17. For the teams we;re not certain about there will be a play in. It's not as difficult as you're making it sound.

Anyway, this is pointless. I hope to see you and your buddies sign up for ESHL and win $$$!

I'm sad some people in this community are against making the game grow. Shame.

When you and your ESHL buddies make outlandish statements, ye I'm going to criticize. Even if I agree with parts of some of the points, I want to see if you backup your bullshit with more bullshit or if you can justify what you're saying.

There's nothing constructive I can offer to you (in this case I'm using "you" as all ESHL supporters in these debates). When I told you the majority of the community doesn't give a fuck about ESHL and why, you told me why I was wrong or that we should get better at the game (lol!) or you make statements like the above that assume superiority over the rest of the community for not sharing your vision for how to grow the community. "I'm sad... Shame." Straight outta the Donald Trump playbook with that last sentence, just stop.

And saying you know what teams will be able to compete is a bad start. Look at LG this season, everyone (myself included) said 1 of Calgary, Dallas, Buffalo, New Jersey would win the cup with at least 2 of those teams being in the finals. Conference finals were CBJ vs. FLA and SJ vs. DAL and CBJ won the cup. But I guess that's because the shitters dragged down those almighty elite players?

LGNHL isn't remotely close to the competition in ESHL, don't bother comparing it. 3 lines, 1 of which is competitive. We do know for a fact what teams perform well and which don't. The majority of the same teams have made playoffs for the last 3 season. 1 team won 2 ESHLs in a row and was a runner up. If you can name me more than 12 clubs that can compete at the top level i'd be surprised. You probably can't name 12 clubs.

Regardless, i'm going to step back from this. I'm running ESHL on psn and I don't need to defend it when i'm confident it will be fine.

It is the game's fault man - you should see me on mario party - the blame turns to my friend being a fucker & using reverse mushroom on me in the fiNAL TURN with the star 3 spaces from me. Thats worse than the parachute on my back in NHL 17.
