Hey guys, In the interests of having a solid community league, I want to open up this thread for suggestions from you on what you think are good courses for us to consider. Courses must be realistic, provide a challenge (Even more challenging for "Majors"), and fit in with the seasons theme. This means we're seeking 3 courses for Rural/Autumn, Desert, Alpine, and Links format. I'll start by saying that Boulder Pointe may get strong consideration for being the Major most resembling the USGA/US Open! Looking forward to your feedback! LB
Haunted Forrest CC @ Yeti Lake -Medium/Hard course -Nice speed on the greens, nothing ridic. Definitely a course I think we should use at some point. It's designed to not be rushed through. Nice challenge.
Couple of good ones that I known of... Crawford Mines The Forum Country Club Ross Hollow Bethpage Black Official Pin A Mt Flacon PGA Edition I assume you guys know about Pocketscout.com... tons of great courses listed there.
Is it ok to recommend a couple of my own? Mojave Palms Resort (PGC version) - the CDC version got a 9 out of 10 on pocketscout. PGC version fixed a few minor things and is the better of the two. Desert course. PGC-Tahoe - My latest course, rural theme but set to be summer in the foothills of Lake Tahoe. Very challenging course.
I would love for my course to be considered. It's called Catamount Trail. If you would all try it out and rate it I would appreciate it too. If some changes need to be made, I will keep note of all of them and do one big change before the tour
I've played a few rounds on some of the suggested courses, here are some quick thoughts: Haunted Forest CC at Yeti Lake: A nice test definitely some risk/reward with the water coming into play on many holes Bethpage Black Official Pin A: Puts a premium on hitting fairways, many holes it would be impossible to make par without hitting them, very long course the wind will be a huge factor, can make some par 4s impossible to birdie. (My round had 12 mph) Mojave Palms Resort (PGC): Very nice course with great visuals on every hole. Greens are pretty fast but fair, great variety of holes throughout course. I think it would be a good tour course but I don't know how anyone else feels about user created courses on the tour.(Apparently it didn't save my round or the rating I gave) I am going to keep testing out some of these and post my feedback.
I'm not familiar with pocketscout.com, and I get a "crap" site (What I call one of those not content, but there is content with other search suggestions) going to it. Link? App? EDIT: Nevermind....it's pocketscout.us instead of .com
we still on pace to start the regular season Saturday??? itching to play, should have spaced out my preseason better lol.
I made a couple of courses, where par will be good scores if anyone wants to try them out as possible candidates: Crown Point........Alpine theme. (I messed up and re submitted it so there is New Crown Point as well ,but they are identical) Vermont CC.......Autumn theme. Both have a couple of risk reward holes.
the eagles nest desert course would be a fun second or third course pretty wild looking good course to score fun to play
Going to post a list of quality realistic courses up later. Don't want to offend anyone but the course selection has been not so great for the past few weeks.
