Before I begin this, I would like to thank @Rico Suave FLS, @Eddiekog, and @Da Young Buck for their articles that inspired me to write this one. As you all know, Rochester never got any attention last season and everyone hated us because we had Nabby. Figured it was only right to give Rochester some media attention, and it’s also great to have something to read pre-season to get everyone all hyped up and flexing in the chatbox. And so we begin, the top 10 Rochester players of season 27, Calder champs : 10 - @Gthumbz42o He was Rochesters fearless leader who tried his hardest to make things work despite IlFox’s terrible availability and Impct GREED getting console banned. It kept him honest though as he tried his best to split up the work throughout the regular season amongst all the lines. The mad scientist with the “1st line against 1st line” in playoffs mentality ended up clutching up some hard fought battles throughout the playoffs. Between his lines two wins against Tuscon’s 2nd line, and his 7 period battle against Providence, Gthumbz42o was an essential piece to Rochesters glory. Compared to – Steve Yzerman 9 - @Daigle x 97 A lot can be said about Daigle, the guy was a wonderful party presence. His attempts to speak English always brought laughs and smiles to the Rochester crew. He had a rough start to the season going 1-5 with WBS, however once he found his way onto Rochester the guy was a winner. Solid defensive player who has the ability to step up and make a play offensively. Compared to – Roman Josi 8 - @deathstwr99 I was originally going to leave Deathstar off because he’s told everyone enough times that he backpacked the entire team. He was also assumed to be a Tuscon spy. However he did score the some clutch game winners while his line got dominated all playoffs long. This never stopped his scrappy line from giving their all and pulling out wins. Compared to – Justin Williams 7 - @Ricky is MVP This guy used a Dangler class and had a good season. I am not sure why more people didn’t just breath on him so he’d go flying 10 feet and lose the puck, but hey, he made it work. Ricky had a good season dangling his way through the opposing teams and put up some solid numbers. Compared to – Radulov 6 - @SpruceMoose91 Spruce was a stand-up guy all season. Great all around guy who can finally say he didn’t get carried by his usual crew. You did it without them man! Congrats! Compared to – Phil Kessel 5 - @GroceryStickl5l We’ve already seen a top defenders thread, no surprise this guy was #3. He had a solid season on the blue line for Rochester, he had no easy task covering for @Rdflag (A LD with RD in his gamertag…) all season, yet he made it work. As far as I am concerned he only struggled one game all season long, which was against @Lorenzo x 24 , other than that he’s been a nightmare for LW. Compared to – Nick Lidstrom 4 - @Zacha l 37 l The reason Rochester was hated and compared to “ass cancer” - @NotoriousFAT 00 . The guy wins games though, no denying that. All FWD’s who play with him enjoy how defensive he is, never complains about getting the puck back to the point, never tries too much offensively, simply makes good defensive plays all game long. Compared to – Ben Lovejoy 3 - @Impct GREED The top 3 was extremely difficult to rank. I tried to stay unbiased here by putting GREED at 3. He carried @MJ23 x Cash and IlFox through some tough games, but also left them out to dry for his fair share. Getting console banned and exposing the lack of skills of his linemates wasn’t a good look, but the guy is a stud so who cares. Amazing rookie season out of the CHL, arguably top 3 as far as rookies go, great guy, and great attitude during games. It will be a shame if he can’t play s28! Compared to – Ovechkin 2 - @Ballzy06 Quietly had a great season as BANKS “back up” during the regular season, but wow, what a playoff performance. Stepped up when he needed to and got everyone fired up. He started a shutout competition between himself and BANKS throughout the playoffs, those boys were HOT. Rochester had a good defensive squad, but Ballzy played his part bailing out the boys on many occasions. Compared to – Andrei Vasilevskiy 1 - @B4NKS I’ll start this by saying, god I wanted to snub BANKS so bad just to try and get a reaction out of him. But let’s be real, he’s a great dude, and he is an all-star. Amazing performance all season long, had a bad game to start off the playoffs but Ballzy lit a fire under his ass and the both of them dueled all playoff long with great performance after great performance. Compared to – Johnny Quick Honorable Mentions @Mindhunter114 @TNOOSE856 @BarDownSkeeze @Johnny Sadds Hope you enjoyed this read folks.
