Round 1 Playoff Predictions ( West Only )

* Based solely on my opinions *
Now with the season over and about 2 weeks until playoffs began, I figured I would post a playoff prediction thread, so nobody has to read why Trobby shouldn't win Norris becuase he is a fourth forward, or how GB came out of nowhere, or even how hayes and briere scrub hunt for points. So, here is what I came up with. Enjoy.

West


:t11: EDM v COL :hcol:

For the most part, with a number 1 seed playing the team with the lowest points in the first round, it is usually a pretty easy beat to just take Edmonton in this one. @Big Jayyyyyyyyyy has assembled a team through bidding and suspect trades to create a very well rounded and powerful team come playoff time. He has a high powered forward core with @cj142 leading the way with former goalie and up-incoming forward star @Th3 l AnD 0n1y also having a great year. That along with some very solid defense, they should be very difficult to beat. On the other side, Colorado, lead by owner and gm combination of @x GLAC1ER x and xSEBBYx13x barely got into the playoffs and have themselves a very tough opponent. With former Jet great, @bennyfact and l Sedin x 22 l leading the way on offense, their defense is not as strong as the Oilers' defense. Colorado does have a very solid goalie tandem in glacier and @Cookie M who hope to still a couple games for them.

PREDICTION: It is hard to pick against the first place team in the West, Ill take the Oilers in 5.

I believe FuzzyBox will light it up and put up big points in his game, or 2 games.

Finishing with the second most points in the West, the Winnipeg Jets will take on a very solid Chicago team. Owner, @JFonz11 has put together a really solid team that is a good all-around team. With the duo of @o Ima Boss 41 o and leading scorer @o Hemsky 83 o on their top line, it should be an interesting match-up with WPG top notch Defense-man, if stickymarmalde decides to line match. Chicago also has a good pair of goalies in, @King Nazu and @Screwby 26, which should make this match-up even more interesting. On the other side in Winnipeg, Owner @StickyMarmalade, @I Anty Jemima I, @x 0dieeee, @El Gandhii, and myself are still question if we can win those big games. I am just hoping this series does not go 7 games, because with out uncanny ability to choke in big games, Chicago could be going to the next round.

PREDICTION: In a tough call, I still have to take my JETS in 6.

I believe Leafy will make more then her usual 2 saves a game to win a big game with the third line.

:t30: MIN v DAL :t9:

I believe this is the closest match-up in the west for sure. Minnesota really came out of nowhere, because of the work of @Shaun1126 and @FiGS42, who made their team into a playoff team, when nobody gave them a chance. Minnesota really came out of nowhere to me and has a really good chance of going far in the playoffs. With Figs as their leader on Forward putting up a crazy 68 goals, and shaun and @Ahernn holding down the fort on D, they have a good chance. I think the best asset the team has is their goaltender @RoG Crafted Jr. This guy came out of nowhere in my eyes and has played unreal in the games I've played against him. He is a great goalie and could be the difference in the series. On the other side, Dallas has had a solid season behind Owner and Gm, @LikeaHardPuzzle and @Dalilaama. I honestly think they have one of the best rosters around. I'm not sure if they had a lot of ECU's or people have been playing bad or what, but this team has some really good talent on it.

PREDICTION: This series will go 7 games. In a tough call, I'll take Minnesota, because they keep finding ways to win.
MVP: ROG Crafted Jr
I believe he will steal at-least 2 games for MIN.


:t28: ARZ v SJS :t15:

This series should also be really close one, with two solid teams going head to head. In Arizona they have the high powered offense of Lag Mornado, @OvenMitts19, Raynor28, and @SJUSoccer9. Which will be a difficult match-up for San Jose's defenseman, but Arizona's defense has been a little shaky all season long and could help San Jose prevail in this one. With former "Conn Smith" winner l4l Clancy l7l in net, he knows how to win big games, but will be able to rely on Craig B x91 and company to block shots on empty nets? We shall find out. San Jose has put a good team together with the likes of UOHL legends, Dolphweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen, @xhaxby, and @chislett19. They do have very solid goal-tending, but also lack depth on defense. They do have good secondary scoring with @therealmooresy and @DontEvenMaatta. This will be a tough match-up between to solid offenses and the defense of one team will have to come up big to win the series.

PREDICTION: Arizona in 7.
MVP: I H4VE no NAM3
No Name was 5-0 in the playoffs last season. He knows how to win.

I'm pretty sure theses are correct, think its #1 vs 2nd WC, #2 vs 2nd WC and then 2 divisional matchups
