Just wanted to clear something up, It's important, and a requirement that every game has full stats in it. This is the start of people's Pro Careers and part of the stipulation of having it as an official LG sanctioned event was so all ESHL games would have accurate data. Teams are free to use the pin challenge system or random search or any other if they prefer but they must guarantee full Team, player and period stats are entered using the older OCR system. This older system needs the 4 screen shots that game team, period and the player stats (the screens with gamertags and not skater names). For others, i'd recommend the club challenge and API System (especially if you are doing your games after 11pm eastern). So its each clubs choice, just as long as stats are complete. Thanks
Nhl is the wrong community and game for this. Nhl will never have rewards or incentives for a competitive scene for a game mode that few play and on a game that doesnt get actual gameplay updates throughout the year.
I'll agree the past has not be ideal for this game and this community but we are looking at the trends and the future. We all saw what the NBA is doing with their eleague , we all hear NHL commissioner Gary bettman said about a possible nhl eleague and fifa esports is coming for Europe this year. There is a lot of growth in this space and we are trying to lead it for hockey. I hope you guys join us in this effort for the growth for everyone.
I would love for NHL to go Esports. It would make LG better and the NHL community better IMO. Problem is EA needs to realize how terrible these last couple of NHLs have been. They're so blind with how many problems this game has, if you want an Esports game, EA needs to atleast give us a manageable game to work with, not this garbage of the last 2 years.
I think everyone agrees with that, but it's hard to fault Tris for wanting his site to be properly managed and look appealing in order to help start the conversation. I think having a detailed history of documented success running these types of events goes a long way.
Not faulting him or anything, just saying taking stats is pointless for something that only matters is the win.
You're grieving over having to take stats. I'm saying I understand why he wants this to be organized and to look good. Even though the game is shit, it is smart of him to have a website that is structured and can show a detailed history of successfully running competitive NHL, which includes collecting individual player stats. Tris has built what is as close to an ideal system as possible without being employed by EA. Don't be a shitty community member, just accept whatever extremely minor inconvenience it is at this point and collect the data.
