* New * Discord vs GroupMe? Official LGHL/ESHL Chat?

GroupMe is better for the simple minded folks. Discord actually offers useful resources that can help run a team. It's the better option for any management.

 

I love Discord, you have way more server options, tags, voice chat if by chance Xbox party is jacked up. you can have a management channel with only management in it without having to swap between different groupme Convos

LG is also probably big enough to get a partnership with them. Basically giving you a dedicated server for operations

 

Groupme is great for memes to chirp with!

 

GroupMe has GIFS!

 

Discord is way better than Group Me

 

Discord, easy. Notification settings are easy to figure out, plus the versatility of setting up your own servers/groups within servers.

 

Discord the possibilities on there and organization is far superior to the others listed

 

yuo cant "like" posts on discord. Sometimes I want to acknowledge something that someone said without talking to their asses

 

You can add reactions though with emoji's, All you would have to do is put a thumbs up emoji.

 

GroupMe allows me to remove dickheads from groups without management consent, it trumps all other 20 Pro's from Discord.. right?

I agree with Martin. I don't need or want an app that I HAVE to put on my phone only to have to be blown up all day. What we have now is fine in my opinion.

 

You don't need the app for discord, you can use it on your computer without download and frankly the notifications are better for mobile anyways. You can choose if you only wanna receive notifications for direct PM's, it's very easy to mute team chat's.

 

I don't use GroupMe either.

The question says if the league is going to switch over. So, it sounds like the site will be removing the chat here.

And besides, those of us that are on the Xbox can just use smartglass which most of us probably have anyway. I'm guessing the PS guys have something similar? But for those of us who don't want to be bothered with another app to have to install or even want to deal with another chat app & the inconveniences that come with them for those of us who don't want them to begin with, it almost sounds as if we HAVE to use something. What might be convenient for some may not be for others is the end thing that I'm getting at.

 

With almost every application you have the option to mute notifications. I don't understand why people don't like think of that? I don't get how it could "blow up their phone" when you have the customization features for notifications at your fingertips


You can pretty much think of discord as a way better version of groupme, so that makes it much more convienent for the people who use this site and line to stay involved in their teams communication more than others.

If you don't like having apps on your phone pertaining to this type of stuff. Don't worry. Your correct. Tris developed a really good msging system on the site that works fairly well and you can use that compared to using an app in the first place.

But when taking into consideration what app is better. Discord is pretty much the same as groupme. Just updated, less crashing, voice chat options, easier to add other users. Just better functionality all around.
