Does it happen more often in LG challenge than in actual club? ONLY in LG Challange

Around what time does it normally occur, and is it ongoing or stop after a bit? I've heard people say it only happens in the 9pm games, I've felt it in the later games as well. Another strange thing is I've had games start at 9-10 ping/0% packet loss, and after 2 periods I start getting 60ping/packet loss.

 

Alot of Comcast/Xfinity in here...

 

I have xfinity and the last two weeks my ping has been around 60-80 during points a game then drop to normal. Has been for club and lg games but nothing has helped (resetting).

I honestly don’t think it’s internet but more the servers. If I play any other game, I have zero issues.

 

Ive has this discussion with @jonlol a few months back and I’ve noticed It happens every time around 8pm est. I also noticed that when I go to club search it should be and all ways is recommended east. But around 8pm est or whenever I have a bad connection it says recommended west when I go to club search. I don’t know if this means I’m on the west server though?

I live in Michigan and I’ve tried 3 different providers and they all have the same issue at the same time with ea recommending me to a west server.

Out of xfinity, att, and wow xfinity had the lowest ping at 12 this is on their lowest internet package too. They other 2 services I could never get lower than 24ms. And that was in their highest internet packages.

The problem has gotten worse the past few weeks. What I think happening is more people are playing now due to the announcement of nhl vs e-sports. So I think once the east server gets filled up it kicks us to the next available west server. Idk I’m not an IT guy but logically it makes sense to me. Which is why it always happens around 8 or 9 est on LG game nights.

When you guys are having this problem see if ea recommends a server that you shouldn’t be on.

 

I am also infected with this Aids epidemic! I got that xfinity connection “philly area” it’s been complete poop for nhl no other game tho..

My connection in NHL was brutal in 16-17, but in 18 has improved. Still no where near what you’d feel in good competitive online games though. 9ms is the best I get in EASHL and it sometimes ends up feeling like 20 or 80. I notice when the games aren’t good - you feel stuck in the mud and the game will stutter: your players won’t react to picking up the puck at all and your turning and speed feels nurfed.

I think thats why people love jumbo playmaker - because of the reach it has even when the connection sucks.

I also really noticed how bad the connection can hinder gameplay by playing Versus. There are games where I will literally have next to no control on the outcome. I could dominate someone like I do for the majority of my games and still come out getting nothing. Guys will just walk through my poke checks and stick lifts and maintain posession when I’m playing perfectly fine. Yet I can’t hold anything near them, am extra slow and can’t win a 1on1. Not sure what causes all these crazy issues but it was never this obviously tilted in old gen.

 

Similar issue here.
Xfinity, 250/50. Usually run 15 on west and 40 on East, between 9-11 ET its apparently worse which points to the overused servers. no issues other than this season between those specific times.

Around the time I get lit up so I can blame it on lag. Its stops after a bit when I have a good game, but it is ongoing if I continually get lit up.

Only see it in club/challenge. Game may start out with 22ms 0% then the next period it’s at 10%. Never see it in drop ins.

Happened during an LG game on Xbox.



At the start of the intermission it was at 8% packet loss and by the time I wiped out the camera it was at 4% packet loss on 19 friggin' ping.

 

Well since Comcast seems to be a theme, what kind of hardware setup do you have? What's the model of the router/modem?

I have comcast in the Pittsburgh area and my connection turns to shit for most lg games but sits pretty at 8 ping during club before and after lg. During lg it jumps anywhere from 40-60 ping and packet loss creeps up anywhere from 1%-15% typically

I have never suffered packet loss in nhl ever. Pretty cool thing that happened during an lg game a couple days ago, had 0 ping. Shits nuts. I don’t know what my setup is I just plug my Ethernet cord up and I have great ping

 

I don't even get 0ms ping whenever I'm playing someone on the same LAN. You're shit is nutsss.

 

Yes... Xfinity around 9pm, half the time I'm on west server suggestion in club search, lasts a game or two, sometimes shows green in ready screen and ends up fair by the 1st intermission, other times vice versa, at its worst I am 68 ping on yellow bars with 5% packet loss- usually corrects by the 11pm game. Seems to be happening every time i play the last several weeks.

 

Internet Provider - Shaw with Internet 150 ... Im a west player my MS varies to anywheres from 26 to 80. My area is Lethbridge Alberta believe I have central west!
This occurs every game I play in Drops. Club. but i do have to say challenge club lobby is the worse its anywheres from 35 MS to 87 MS. Like I said my best ever MS was 26. EAST is prioritized frustrating EA has to fix this why sell a unfair game some of us on lg also play for money!

 

Almost funny because we always say west is prioritized because when we play west folks, we might as well be playing pong on a bulletin board from the 90s.

I have TDS. No issues except does get to 40ms on occassion. We had one game recently that was 15ms for me but I swear the whole team had symptoms of it being 1000ms or the other team was maybe 2 sec ahead of us. Pivoting and turning was not possible.

 

My boss bought those and says they work.
