Since everyone gets confused by this and EA gets it wrong, here's what the AHL says:

Colorado isn't an AHL team.

 

I may have been too literal. All I meant was they aren't a real AHL team. Well, that probably sounds bad too. I mean they're an LGAHL team.

 

if you want to get technical @macros73, yes Colorado Eagles are a REAL AHL team, just not now. They signed with AHL a couple of months back (October 10th, 2017), and will be in the AHL for the 2018-19 Season and future Seasons. They will also be the Avalanches's farm team. LG just incorporated it now, rather than later.

 

Iowa could also be IOW. Just saying.
