Goalie shootout tourney

At the time of this posting it's just a thought and I didn't want to hijack @Waxibono 's thread.

If I see enough interest I'll pursue it further. The end goal (excuse the pun)…….I'd like to see an improvement (at all levels) in stats & in the community's perception regarding breakaway goals. This will also result in a slightly better skilled G base at all levels, and hopefully making it harder for skaters to score on pk's, breakaways or many shots in general.

Get game scores closer and making stats that much more valuable as a result of improved G performances.

 

My biggest way to get ready for games is playing 3s. I know a lot of goalies hate 3s but I love it. That's hiw yu get practice. I'm about 60% on breakaways and consider my self decent at best on em. I'd love to compete! Gratefu for this idea.

 

This will definitely be a work in progress.

I know shootout would be great if better skilled shooters could be involved rather than the opposing G (for the shots). But, let's start with what we have available to us.

Was thinking this through...methinks this would better be done via CC than via Shootout mode.

1. LG already works via CC. Tris should be able to work with a tourney format (or other) and stats for us in EASHL mode.

2. Can get 10 quality skaters per 2 Gs to take shots against each goalie x3 periods. 60 minutes for 60 shots all 1v1 with stats.

3. Substantial enough shot volume to justify eliminations or progression to next round etc.

4. Gives skaters a chance to go 1v1 against multiple top Goalies.

Party of 13 can be had. All skaters + 2 G + Shootout officiant.

* No penalties or quitting from skaters required to avoid issues with AI.

Suggest 1 to 3 steams. 1 from behind each G + 1 other. Behind G does not have to be from G stream, can be another skater. Probably just 1 stream is ok.

 

I hope there's a Shootout mode in "World of Chel" in NHL 19 so that we can use our own avatar instead of the NHL presets. Still, I guess we could always have a pool of teams we can pick in a regular shootout so it makes it fair.

I think it's a great idea. I hope this is something that comes to fruition. If not for anything else, it gives us goalies another chance to compete against each other and earn some sort of bragging rights.

 

If I was able to play, this would definitely be something I would be interested in
