Proven unsuccessful owners should not be allowed to own in the nhl. It ruins the experience for players.

If the CHL has a rule that a player with a too impressive track record in the upper leagues can not come down to manage, then why cant there be a ruling deeming that an Owner with a sub-par track record(never making playoffs with a known fact / history that players don't wanna play for them) is ineligible to resign as an owner?

    Thank You

The thing is there needs to be people who want to take managment. In a perfect world every team would have atleast a respectable management group. I do think to even be considered for managment you should have to have atleast a 3-4m contract in the NHL within the last 3-6 seasons or have won a calder/runner up in the AHL as a gm the previous season. Atleast that way you are opening a door for AHL players to come into the NHL and with a contract minimum you are atleast going to have a half decent player as owner

Sorry, your track record is not good enough to own a team. Try the AHL

I'd rather see less teams than shit management groups. If the only reason they get a team is because it fills it out then get rid of a few teams so competition can be better overall.

I'm fine with giving people a shot, but guys who have truly catastrophic seasons should at the very least be expected to reapply and should lose their team if there are enough good ownership candidates. We need to start raising the bar a bit, a successful season should not be: "Well they got outscored by 140 goals but hey at least they only had 1 forfeit".

Every season, we get the same thread created and discussion in the chatbox going about the quality of management.

And every God damn season following the thread/discussion, those who were the loudest do not step up to fill the void.

Either put up (your application) or shut up. In the end, LG is usually scrambling to fill the final spots because there aren’t even enough applicants, let alone worrying about the quality.

Ok, then who would do management? It’s not like some of these owners are chosen over others; they’re the only ones that applied to be owners.

Some of good players need to step up. It will always be like this until some good players step up.

    @Ballistik ICE

1.) We need more people to apply
A.) The amount of applicants the last yr or two 17 and 18 has been embarrassing (mainly bc of the game and then bc of the headache associated with mgmt.) However, running a team is much easier than it has ever been with the API for stats, the only shitty part now is doing lines and than gathering guys for game time, which most good teams have no problem doing bc of team chats (allowing everyone to talk to eachother and if theyre smart having their AHL mgmt and main ECUs in it as well, plus the XBOX ECU message system tris added for mgmt

2.) People don't apply bc they don't want to take over BAD teams with little to no assets besides maybe Draft Picks (use to be able to trade resigns which had some value, not they cannot)

3.) A lot of bad, unsuccessful or low end contract players (3rd liners) have built good teams when given a chance or rebounded after a bad season or two.
A.) Usually its players giving up on the team after a week or two and forcing trades which makes the team worse bc they owner has to make numerous trades

4.) Long time successful AHL mgmt wont step up bc they think theyd just go cheap in bidding (which for the most part they would) or they go cheap then to a sucky team and hate the NHL instead of starting their own team and then say the NHL is full of EGOs when the AHL is literally built the same way.

*You can retire on PSN in the off season under contract and still play Xbox LGHL and own a team

Tbh, it the only solution, theres 31 teams only because it a simulation of the reality, but theres not enough nhl caliber players to fil all those teams
I know it wont happen but that a reason why some top players dont play in this league anymore.

Unless more than half the community grows up over night it will be a continuous problem.

Unless you’ve owned you have no idea how much work it can be at times. Too many entitled individuals.

The only way people would change or become a bit more accountable would be a sign up fee, which WOULD NEVER happen, nor am I suggesting it as I’m sure even more headaches would occur. That’s the point of eshl

It is what it is. So I think we just need to learn to deal with the circumstances. Nothings been done in years.
