    #1 :team20: Ottawa Senators :team20: (11-4-3) 8-0-1 in Week 2.

A surprise to some, but not to all, the Ottawa Senators have put together a superb squad and managed to go 8-0-1 in Week 2. Now leading the Atlantic division, the Senators led by 2 time defending Calder Cup Champion @KrawcH v2, they look to continue their dominance here on out. Naturally, the team gets looked at as “The AHL guys, these guys might suck” but that is NOT the case of the Senators. Krawch is an experienced Owner and knows how to build his teams. Ottawa will be a good team throughout the season, it just depends on if their goalies can handle the workload.

This is what their Week 2 schedule looked like:
    -5-1 Win vs San Jose
    -3-1 Win vs Edmonton
    -5-0 Win vs Calgary
    -5-3 Win vs Vegas

    -3-2 OTL vs Washington
    -2-1 Win vs Los Angeles
    -3-2 Win vs Arizona
    -4-1 Win vs Anaheim
    -4-2 Win vs Vancouver

You look at their week and see that they allowed only 13 goals in 9 games, you know your goalies are doing something right. Leading the way by example in net for the Sens this week was none other than @Darcy Kuemper. Darcy managed to go 5-0-0 this week, while facing 47 shots. Darcy had a Sv% of 85.1, while also sporting a 1.36 GAA and 1 shutout. His partner, @justdumpit managed to go 3-0-1 this week, while facing 57 shots. That’s a significant increase of shots against per game compared to Darcy’s. JDI had a Sv% of 87.7 this week while sporting a GAA of 1.39.

Offensively, this team was lead by 2 guys more than the rest, as they both managed to put up 11 points. @Tjbarone81 (6-5-11 +7) went 3-0-0 this week, while beating Vegas, Calgary and Edmonton. Like most centres, Tj has been struggling on the Faceoff dot this season, boasting a low 47.9 FO%. Hopefully he can pick that up in the coming weeks. His linemate and Right Wing @PureRippin (2-9-11 +7) also went 3-0-0 this week. Naturally, being Tj’s linemate, they played the same 3 games and obviously went 3-0-0. Signed up at Centre this season, but playing on the Right Wing was either a ploy to deceive teams or it was just a necessary move needed to help produce. Clearly, it seems to be working as he currently is sitting undefeated for the season with 20 points. Look for this duo to continue its dominance in the coming weeks.

Key Matchups for the Senators in Week 3:
    -Monday at 9pm vs Carolina
    -Monday at 11pm vs NYR
    -Tuesday at 9pm vs Philadelphia

    #2 :team31: Anaheim Ducks :team31: (14-2-2) 7-1-1 in Week 2

I can’t do this to them 2 weeks in a row. Having a strong Week 1 with a record of 7-1-1, I decided to keep Anaheim off the Top 3 Power Rankings due to the fact that they had SEVEN 1 goal games! In Week 2, they only managed to have 4 of them, but they’re here because of their convincing victories. @CaLL Me Jakoo has built a phenomenal league best squad so far through 2 weeks. One of the few teams that have depth everywhere, this is one of the Top 3 teams in the League to beat and is a major Stanley Cup Contender. One look at their lineup and you can tell these guys are GOOD. Look for them to consistently put up 6+ win weeks all season long; I don’t see Anaheim losing more than 20 games in regulation all season.

This was Anaheim’s Week 2 schedule:
    -4-3 Win vs Toronto
    -2-0 Win vs Montreal
    -4-1 Win vs Boston
    -7-1 Win vs Buffalo
    -3-2 Win vs Minnesota
    -2-1 Win vs Tampa

    -4-3 OTL vs Detroit
    -4-1 Loss vs Ottawa
    -4-2 Win vs Florida

In Anaheim’s case, it’s hard to say who their real game changers were this week, but I think it’s obvious that the offence did its job, scoring 32 goals this week. The man that led this offence was @Girgss (10-2-12 +5) who went 3-0-0 this week. One could say that Girgs did scrub hunt this week. He only played against Boston, Buffalo and Florida. But what really matters at the end of the day is that he got 3 wins for his teams. However, Girgs wasn’t a one man offensive machine. He wouldn’t have been able to score those 10 goals if it wasn’t for his linemate @Trobs (1-8-9 +6) who assisted on 8 of them. Jeez, talk about feeding them to you on a silver platter. Look for this line to continue to dominate if they’re playing the lesser competition.

In between the pipes, there was a clear starter this week, and a clear backup. Their starter @l Wall x 31 l went 4-1-1 this week, while facing 78 shots. His Sv% is one of the lowest for a dominating starter that I’ve seen so far, posting an 82.1% and a GAA of 2.26. Those numbers still seem relatively fantastic, but in a game where the goalies are consistently posting high 80s and low 90s for Sv%, that is a big yikes. His counterpart, @l V a s l went 3-0-0 this week, while facing a mere 39 shots. However, his Sv% was 92.3, which is what you would expect in your starter and not in your backup. So great job there Vas! He also boasted a GAA of 1.00 this week with 1 shutout, so he definitely did his job back there for the Quacking Ducks.

Key Matchups for Anaheim in Week 3:
    -Sunday 9pm vs San Jose
    -Tuesday 9pm vs Dallas
    -Wednesday 10pm vs Arizona

    #3 :team78: Pittsburgh Penguins :team78: (11-5-2) 7-1-1 in Week 2

@brandovedo's Pittsburgh Penguins make their jump into the Top 3 this week after going 7-1-1 in Week 2. Known for building relatively good teams, Brando makes his return to strong winning weeks after struggling a bit in Week 1 (4-4-1). This is what the LGHL is used to seeing from Brando teams. The Penguins only lost twice this week, and both to good teams. Don’t be surprised to see the Penguins make a push for the top spot in the very tough Metropolitan division. This is a good team and if they manage to get wins from all their units, they should be able to crack a Top 3 division spot with reasonable ease.

This was the Penguins Week 2 schedule:
    -4-3 Win vs Winnipeg
    -3-0 Loss vs NYR
    -2-1 OTL vs Colorado
    -3-1 Win vs Dallas
    -4-3 Win vs Minnesota
    -3-1 Win vs Toronto
    -1-0 Win vs St. Louis
    -5-4 Win vs Nashville
    -2-0 Win vs Chicago

For the Penguins, it’s going to be a shorter breakdown than usual because there wasn’t much of standout for them. They had 1 scorer reach 11 points this week and only had 1 roster goalie. Their leading scorer for this week was @l S4K l (5-6-11 +3) who went 3-0-0 this week, beating teams like Winnipeg, Toronto and Nashville, all of which are solid teams. S4K played 1 game at centre this week, and 2 on left wing. He managed to have a FO% of 54.5% this week. In net for the Penguins, they were led by @Kingofny1983 who went 5-1-0 this week. Ny faced 52 shots over his 6 games, stopping 37 of them. He had an abysmal Sv% of 71.2% and a GAA of 2.5. Luckily his ECU backups were able to carry out a 2-0-1 record to help his team to the record they had.

Key Matchups for the Penguins in Week 3:
    -Sunday 9pm vs Carolina
-Tuesday 10pm vs New York Rangers
    -Tuesday 11pm vs Philadelphia

    #4 :team28: Arizona Coyotes :team28: (14-3-2) 7-0-2 in Week 2

The Arizona Coyotes, coming off a 10 game week in Week 1 make the cut for this week’s Top 5 in our Weekly Power Rankings. Having a phenomenal 7-0-2 record this week, you couldn’t ask for too much more. Losing only to San Jose and Ottawa, these Yotes are looking good. They allowed a league best 10 goals against in Week 2. Whatever Slim and Gilbzey are putting into their goaltenders water bottles, it’s working. They’re been somewhat of a silent dominating team, despite having some very good players on their team. Continue to watch them dominate their division and conference, as they are currently tied with Anaheim for #1 in the NHL in points.

Arizona’s Week 2 schedule looked like the following:
    -3-1 Win vs Detroit
    -1-0 OTL vs San Jose
    -2-0 Win vs Tampa
    -4-1 Win vs Buffalo
    -7-1 Win vs Florida
    -3-0 Win vs Boston

    -3-2 OTL vs Ottawa
    -4-2 Win vs Toronto
    -3-1 Win vs Montreal

This team is seeing most of its success thanks to its amazing goalie tandem of @LEG3NDz R41Nz and @Z3R0CR45H These two guys are veterans NHL goalies and know what it takes to get the wins. While Zero continues to guarantee that he is the backup and should only be getting 3 games, I don’t think the Yotes have a backup. They have two very good starting goalies and if one of them has a bad night, the other will pick up the slack. Legend took the most of the starts this week, going 4-0-1, while facing 61 shots in his 5 games. However, as a starter should be doing, he posted an amazing 91.8 Sv% and a 0.95 GAA with 2 shutouts. His counterpart, Zerocrash, went 3-0-1 while facing 48 shots in his 4 games. It’s nice to see that Arizona is consistent at letting up an average of 12 shots against per game. Zero’s himself did great this week, posting an 89.6 Sv% and 1.17 GAA. This is what a top tandem goalie duo should be doing week in and week out to help guarantee your team wins.

Where there was goaltending, there was offence. But it wasn’t a 1 headed dragon, it was a 3 headed hydra that came at every team. The scoring across the forwards was very even throughout the week. Arizona put up 30 goals, while allowing 10, yet no forward eclipsed 10 points this week. Leading them was Mr. Moneyman, aka Mr. 11million, @Sitful (3-6-9 +8) while going 3-0-0, playing Tampa, Buffalo and Florida. Pretty sad that a guy of his talent and caliber only managed to put up 9 points against the 3 bottom teams in the Atlantic division, who also have 14 wins combined (the same amount that Arizona has themselves). If Arizona’s offence continues to roll like it did this week, which means evenly and scoring alot, they’ll continue to be a threat...especially with that strong goalie tandem back there.

Key Matchups for Arizona in Week 3:
    -Monday 10pm vs Dallas
    -Monday 11pm vs Colorado
    -Wednesday 10pm vs Anaheim***
***Expect this to be the Game of the Night

    #5 :team8: Colorado Avalanche :team8:(9-8-1) 7-2-0 in Week 2

The Colorado Avalanche had a much better Week 2 than they did in Week 1. Basically a 180 flip after going 2-6-1 in their first week. Ninety Eight must be giving some Coach Carter type speeches in that locker room to have been able to get the boys moving in Week 2. Their only two losses coming to good teams in Philadelphia and Carolina, this is more like the team we expected to be. Jumping from last to 3rd in their division in 1 week is no small task, despite it being early in the season. This is a team you don’t want to mess with because some of their players take advantage of every opportunity better than others.

Here was Colorado’s Week 2 schedule:
    -6-2 Win vs Washington
    -2-1 Win vs Pittsburgh
    -4-3 Win vs New Jersey

    -3-1 Loss vs Philadelphia
    -5-4 Win vs Vegas
    -3-2 Win vs NYR

    -3-1 Loss vs Carolina
    -3-2 Win vs NYI
    -3-2 Win vs Columbus

The Avalanche had 6 one goal wins this week, 2 two goal losses and a blowout win. Scoring 28 goals, but allowing 22 isn’t exactly a recipe for success. For them to have had such a strong week while allowing that many goals is quite amazing in my eyes. They had some big name forwards, but at the expense of defence and goaltending, so hopefully they can continue to outscore opponents every week. This week, their offence was led by none other than @rG Breezyy (5-5-10 +1) who went 2-1-0. Breezy played against Washington, New York Rangers and Philadelphia this week, losing only to Philly. Not bad for a guy who is getting paid 2mil to be carried by his best bud @Lorenzo x 24, who hasn’t really done much as of yet this season.

In net for the Avs, just need to start off by saying that you both need to do better. Playing like that isn’t going to cut it if your forwards can’t score. @Tex243 went 4-2-0 this week, while facing 89 shots in 6 games. However, posting an 83.1 Sv% and 2.44 GAA does not look too good from your starting goalie. Hopefully you can turn it around, start a few more turds on net and get that Sv% back up for next week above 86%. Now on to the backup. @Huddy went 3-0-0 this week while facing 28 shots in his 3 games. Way to go Hudster. However, he had a painful 75 Sv% to look at and a 2.22 GAA this week. Hopefully both of y’all can turn it around soon or I pray for those Avalanche.

Key Matchups for Colorado in Week 3:
    -Monday 11pm vs Arizona
    -Wednesday 9pm vs Anaheim
    -Wednesday 10pm vs Winnipeg

    #6 :team12: New York Rangers :team12: (12-5-1) 6-2-1 in Week 2

    #7 :team4: Philadelphia Flyers :team4: (12-5-1) 6-3-0 in Week 2

    #8 :team74: Carolina Hurricanes :team74: (11-4-3) 6-1-2 in Week 2

    #9 :team676: Vegas Golden Knights :team676: (12-4-2) 6-2-1 in Week 2

    #10 :team77: Nashville Predators :team77: (8-9-1) 6-3-0 in Week 2

    #11 :team2: Boston Bruins :team2: (9-7-2) 6-3-0 in Week 2

    #12 :team5: Montreal Canadiens :team5: (11-6-1) 5-4-0 in Week 2

    #13 :team11: Edmonton Oilers :team11: (7-11-0) 5-4-0 in Week 2

    #14 :team21: Tampa Bay Lightning :team21: (5-10-3) 3-3-3 in Week 2

    #15 :team9: Dallas Stars :team9: (12-6-0) 5-4-0 in Week 2

    #16 :team75: Chicago Blackhawks :team75: (7-10-1) 4-4-1 in Week 2

So a team with 17 points is top 10, then teams with 13 and 14 points total are also in the top 16? I don't understand what these were based on considering Dallas is first in their division and behind all of those teams in the rankings. Just curious

Power rankings are opinionated and are also based on the most recent games and not season long.

Then why is a bottom feeder team with 3 wins that week ahead if Dallas?

Ottawa is trash. Take them off the Top 16. They're just a bunch of AHLers.
