The way you grade dmen I feel needs a revamp. Love the list each week their posted. Just don't understand the Dmen ratings.
What do you suggest? Is there something you are saying is too strongly weighted or too weakly rated? Or do you need me to post my formulas and a description again to give feedback?
I'd like a descriptions, but dmen is such a hard position to rank because defensive dmen aren't given anything by the stats you've taken. A dman that blocks shots by just standing doesn't get a block, plus/minus doesn't seem to matter much, points aren't the main point of a defensemen, give aways and takeaways don't matter much if they are not getting scored on and the wins don't seem to make much of a difference in your value pool. I've suggested before for Dman and really all players, I'd like for you to take into account goals against and goals for. You can find that in the advanced stats and it would give a better idea of how a dman does regardless of who he plays with. I'll end it by saying I appreciate the work, but the highest dman only has a value of 50, somethings off in the weighting imo of course.
Like these two I don't understand how the second place player is not rated higher than the rank one guy, more wins, takeaways, points, plus minus. Has more giveaways and less blocked shot, yet is rated a point lower.
Yo. .. How am I not number 1? I have 10 less games then number 1 I get that but I've only faced 90 less shots so it scales similar.. Only 2 less shutouts... . And I have the best save percentage and Goals against Average out of all goalies? Conspiracy? Not even number 1 I'm not top 5 apperantly
Basically I did the math. We both average 13 shots a game. I just save more. But yet he's number 1 and I'm 10 y'all crazy relax on the shutouts. Who stops the puck more
I'll post a description of how its calculated for week 8 for you to see and possibly make some adjustments to D.
The big difference that is probably separating you from the guy in 1st is the 10 less games. Since you have a great numbers you are high but he is higher because he has done it more times. In my formula I have it so that a player can get a handful of points for more wins and games played. I did this to keep players who ECUd and got 2 shutouts in 3 games and has insane numbers from being at the top. Also since the 1st place guy has played more he has more saved shots which also awards a couple points. I will take a look at it and see if there is a clear revision that can help.
