Best DMAN builds?

Interested to see builds cause of lack of pokes/stick lifts, lmk your builds.

 

6’9 280 EFD, Heavy Hitting 2 Dirty Dangles 2 and 1T Specialist

 

5'7 dng

 

5'2" 100 lbs sniper w/ Heavy hitter 2, Brute Strength 2, Medic

 

these builds suck

 

Stick check rating doesn't have any affect it seems. I have the same ability with a 92 poke as I do 75 poke. I do a fast two way D build with hitting 2 and strength 2. Its a solid mix of speed and bump ability.

 

I have a PMD that is 5'10 and weighs 183. It has hockey iq 2, quick step 2, and that backskating one.

Also been testing out a TWF on D

 

6'2 twd, 204/205 pounds I believe. Lazer passing, good stick, and Defensive skill stick for the specialty.

 

6' 0" 212 lb. TWD Hitting 2, Strength 2, Stretch Pass

 

Grinder - Hockey IQ 2/First step 2 Back skating. I don’t remember the hot/wt. Somwthing like 6’2” 210ish

I agree with Mass about stick rating. I see no difference between a high or low rating. Same penalties and same amount of take aways either way

Core Balance 2
Heavy hitting 2 or Brute strength 2
Quick Defensive stick

Very nice if you want a good mix of speed, puck control and defense.

 

6'4 220lbs Defensive Defenceman
Primary: Laser Passing 2
Secondary: Quick First Step 2
Specialty: Backskating

These traits help to buffer out his weaknesses. Great for keeping the net clear and neutralizing threats in the D-zone. Only downfall is terrible agility so can be tough to keep up with shifty forwards, so important to always stay in position between puck and net.

5’10 185 (if you like smaller builds)
Or
5’11 196 (if you want a bigger type build that can skate still)

Traits
Good defensive stick (boosts you stick checking to 88 I believe)

Laser passing (this trait is pretty much your preference on how you play, for me I’m more of a puck mover, helps on the break outs)

Back skating (really helps with keeping up with fast wingers so you can face them, and keep them to the outside)

IMO using this type of build is like using a more rounded PMD, yeah you lose some offensive stats, but it helps round out the defensive side.

I use 6'2 205 TWD - with Booming Slapper , Hockey IQ and I rotate between Stretch pass and quick stick. Been rolling stretch pass more lately

 

How's the Slap Shot and one timer with this build? Just curious. I might try this out

Booming Slapper 2 (or heavy hitter depending on play style)

One timers without momentum are shitty

Put core balance as second (only loose 1 balance stat) and the first perk is your choice depending on your playstyle like Gour said.
