Season 9 Awards- Community Involvement

Hey guys, I've done this the last 2 seasons and thought it was quite helpful for us in terms of the award process, so I'm doing it again; here are the threads from the last 2 seasons.

I'd like to think that we'd be able to get all the nominees correct, but this helps me make sure I don't let anyone slip through the cracks. Nominees/finalists should be announced over the next few days/weeks, but it takes a long time to gather everything and calculate stuff that the site doesn't do. (SOS for example)"

Basically, this thread is meant for serious entries when it comes to guys that you think are deserving of certain awards.

I know it's usually not encouraged to 'nominate' yourself for stuff, but I really want to encourage that if you really feel you're deserving of an award, please post below and make your case. If you prefer not to post yourself publicly, feel free to PM me.

Here are the awards that are voted upon by the committee and their basic criteria, along with last season's winners as a point of reference;

Hart Memorial Trophy - Awarded to the league's most valuable player. (Minimum 20 wins only criteria)

Hart Memorial Winner: @JClaus33

James Norris Memorial Trophy - Awarded to the defenseman who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position. (Minimum 20 Wins)

Vezina Trophy - Awarded to the league's top goaltender. (Minimum 36 Games and an 82.5 Save %)

Lady Byng Memorial Trophy - Awarded to the player who exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability. (10 PIMs or less in a season)

Frank J. Selke Trophy - Awarded to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game. (2.00 GAA or less is the starting criteria)

Calder Memorial Trophy - Awarded to the league's most outstanding rookie player. (No more than 9 non-ECU games played in any season for skaters)

Ted Lindsay Award - Awarded to the NHL's outstanding player as selected by the members of the NHL Players Association. (Typically the other Award finalists as well as one or two others are nominated here)

Bill Masterton Award - Awarded to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey. (Someone who was in a bad situation and stuck it out, someone who stepped up after an owner quit, just something along those lines)

King Clancy Award - In LG, this award is generally given as a BOG/Media award to someone that has made a positive impact on the league and helped with the betterment of it.

Jack Adams Award - Awarded to the Owner adjudged to have contributed the most to his team's success. (In the Regular Season) (NHL + AHL success taken into consideration)

Again, please use this thread to nominate people that you feel are deserving for various awards, and back it up only with facts/stats that can actually give them a case for it. For example, Firemike cannot win the Jack Adams this season, so nothing like that please. If you guys want awards done the best they can be, this thread can be super helpful for me/us.

There shouldn’t be a King Clancy award this season.

 

@j483beale for Jack "Beale" Adams award

Guy has carried the disgruntled Blues through numerous team cancer's (@g544322109987643, @WesterlyHalo654, etc.) while the Blues continue to hold our heads above the water. He's tied for the most wins and has more points than some of our forwards, which goes to show his on-ice impact on top of his managerial expertise.

These Rampage are is also kicking ass in the AHL in large part to his savvy "draft and develop" strategy, which boasts names such as @The_Falcon__, @TaPoisse and @JVIysterious- (Not to mention NHLers such as @IIllIIlIlIIllllI, @LeBlanc21, @Dueceinthedirt and @White_Knucklerz), as well as send downs such as @kickass8000 and @PattyIce14

The award was named after him for christ's sake, let the award go home to Jack Bealington
