Fun (unrelated) fact: Despite an overwhelming majority of the population being right handed, more Canadians use a left handed shot than right handed. This also applies to things like golf and baseball. In the USA they're more likely to use a right handed shot. Some hockey stick manufacturers have revealed that roughly 60-65% of their sticks sold in Canada are left handed, while in the states it's the opposite.
This is because in Canada (apparently, I was never taught this) you are taught that your dominant hand should go on the top of the stick, which leads to lots of people that are dominant right hands using left handed sticks.
Same as Get Busy - I switch almost every game between LD & RD, and play both handiness. Can't tell which one I'm better at. Real life, I'm right handed because I'm a contrarian and ignored my coaches.
when you think about it the canadian school of thought makes a ton of sense. if you take one hand off of your stick to poke or chop or make a play on the puck, your top hand is the one doing the work so you want it to be the dominant one.
that is false i'm right hand and play right handed i prefer my strong hand to the bottom of the stick for a more stronger wrist shot or slap shot.
how many people play the opposite of what you are in real life? im right handed in real life but have always used the left handed stick in the ea games.
