These ratings are weird as fuck.

 

I just have a question on the formula you use, since me and GoalieGodz have played every game together I'm guessing the big factor that makes him 21st and me 66th is the giveaways?

 

I had to look on my phone because I'm not at home but from a glance yes the giveaways are knocking you down a tad but not much. I made giveaways a low value for forwards. Your 4 more penalty minutes also might cause you to lose a point or two. I didnt look at goals and assists but if he has a little more goals than you, then that will case him to gain a few points on you. If I'm not mistaken, I believe as of now 3 assists is about the same as 2 goals roughly. I apologize, I'll look on my laptop when I get home and I'll be able to give you a more exact reason but that's my rough glance.

 

Those are the exact reasons I was thinking of, either way nice work. It's unfortunate that primary assists and secondary assists can't be tracked because I think they'd be a great add to the formula you've done.

 

Yeah definitely. I'd love to have a LG stat that incorporates wins against teams with winning records and what not but they dont. Hopefully that can be a future thing.

 

Goalies should definitely be updated! I'm sure all of these algorithms could use some work but these goalie rankings are certainly better than the ones used natively through the site.

 

Yeah over time I'm trying to perfect the system to a point everyone is happy with. That's why I'm paying real close attention to what everyone says so I can evaluate and redesign where needed.
