The Jack Adams Award is awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) coach "adjudged to have contributed the most to his team's success.” With that being said, our Jack Adams will be presented to an LGHL owner. @Lehkonen x 62 St. Louis Blues S31 Division Place: 7th (22-54-6) 50 Points S32 Division Place: 1st (57-18-7) 121 Points Last Season: Owner of the S31 Presidents Trophy-winning Arizona Coyotes. This Season: Lehkonen moved over to own the St. Louis Blues, with what seemed to be a fresh team from the previous season roster-wise, Slim made many moves pre-draft to move up in the order all the way to pick 1 to grab @Ix C M xI and @Soto I99I in the top 10 plus add in a trade for @Burns I9I to form a dominant 2nd line, with what may be considered the top 3 forwards from the draft. They went big on day one of bidding with 10.5M on @Duggan who played well all season for the Blues, and took AGM from the get-go. Bids on long time Slim tendy @LEG3NDz R41Nz and friend @l Volcom x 28 l as well as JJ running mate @Viktomize and the relatively unknown @lBeLiEvEJESUSl as well as top pair defenseman @xW 4 R D made this team deep at all positions and it showed. Possibly overlooked as a possible playoff contender, let alone a team that would lead the league in points @Lehkonen x 62 took the Blues to a place nobody expected. @Really Good Dad New Jersey Devils S31 Division Place: 8th (27-48-7) 61 Points S32 Division Place: 3rd (48-29-5) 101 Points Last Season: Makeshift AGM. RGD was won in bidding by the Devils and promoted to AGM, then traded to the Blackhawks and promoted to AGM there as well. Both teams missed playoffs. This Season: RGD took his hand as the front runner of a team taking on a team formerly owned by Gulash. Pre-bidding he had three returning players in @Duchesne x10 & @Zarvek as well as @Skoden Uprising via resign plus draft picks, and moved up into pick 6 to pick Calder nominee @xXDR3AMK1LL3RXx post bidding this team looked like a hot mess, many known 3rd liners or seasoned veterans. This team was expected to fail, but after many valuable trades including acquiring @ScaryJoeyy plus consistency from rookies @Zarvek @BkheadshotBk & @xXDR3AMK1LL3RXx the team found it's stride. Losing your GM mid-season when @Tenacious RD quit is always hard, but it's a lot easier when @ScaryJoeyy becomes free. Fun fact only 2 players from bidding ended the season on the team, well done knowing when to make a change @Really Good Dad and obliterating the expectations many people including myself had for your team coming out of bidding. @l3l Ray l8l Toronto Maple Leafs S31 Division Place: 4th (42-27-13) 97 Points S32 Division Place: 2nd (54-19-9) 117 Points Last Season: Won in bidding on forward by Poopie, traded to Toronto where he took AGM. The team missed the playoffs. This Season: Even with a good track record of 3/3 playoff teams as owner in the past, this team was doubted going into the season after barely missing playoffs last season. Resigning forwards @R0tes and @OFs was a game changer for the Leafs, as both players won them games consistently (Until OFs was traded) also getting @Zigg989 as compensation for Hopkins, and then trading for @MarcoGoes5H0LE in week 2 had this team with one of the best top 6 forward groups in LGHL. Add in the bids on @Lauxey who was nominated for a Norris as well as @johnwaynee90 to build out the west line, this team was dangerous from the start and competed for the Presidents Trophy down the stretch. This team exceeded expectation and improved by 20 points in the toughest division in the league. @VVaGs82 Minnesota Wild S31 Division Place: 3rd (42-34-6) 90 Points S32 Division Place: 3rd (49-23-10) 108 Points Last Season: Owner if the Minnesota Wild. The team made the playoffs as the 3rd seed in their division. This Season: Wags returned to his beloved Minnesota Wild and was apart of a much stronger division this season than the one prior. Bringing back many players from the season before like @BullBreed333 @o Crazy Legz o @ScottyWildthing @H0L7BY as well as GM @ICExCREAMxTRUCK has many people questioning Wags, as the season prior many of those players underperformed. Add in a bid on underperforming @cj142 of 12.25M and another 8.5 between @l Freddy ll and @REDWINGSSPEEDY1 many people had this team written off with bad contracts and bad players. The bids on @AlexeiKovalev27 and @Tex243 were big steals for the Wild. Wags was able to keep the majority of his day one bids and made minimal changes throughout the season except for of course the trade for @TheKingDaddyx and @Bushook which paired a sweet 3rd line. Wags was able to finish the season 3rd in the central beating out top management teams that were supposed to steamroll over the wild. @Karmuh x 86 Montreal Canadians S31 Division Place: 1st (54-25-3) 111 Points S32 Division Place: 1st (57-21-4) 118 Points Last Season: Owner of the division-winning Montreal Canadians. This Season: Karmuh built yet another very good team this season. He was able to start the season off acquiring @rG Breezyy and @Lorenzo x 24 which really added depth to his team. Karmuh also brought back @Gabseh as his GM for another season and @I HDC I as AGM. Starting off with two dominant forward lines to start the season many knew Montreal was a force to be reckoned with. But there were some questions concerning defence, with the 7.75M spent on @MxnsteR 95 and another 2.25M on @Mxtayer many thought this D core could potentially cost games. But it ended up being one of, if not the best group in the league with a little help from @Charyzen Later on in the season Karmuh was also able to solidify his 3rd line with @SpenceDangles @Anthvass14 and @Nuge which made his forward core one of the scariest in the league. The Canadians finished first in the east and somehow improved on a 54 win, 111 point season from S31. Congratulations to all the Jack Adams award finalists. It was tough to narrow it down to 5. I encourage all LGHL members to vote, and feel free to express opinions below. *Thankyou @PieR Talent for your contribution in this write-up*
I’m honored to be nominated. Thank you for the consideration and the time put into this thread. Good luck to all.
Yeah? Where was a playoff game statistic mentioned? If you’re referring to the mention of a prior team missing playoffs, you must be a good regular season team to make playoffs. Hence why it is mentioned, to show the improvement from last regular season to this one.
Still. Canes were bottom 3 in the league at week 3 and then moves were made to be put into the playoffs. Even if this is a regular season award... can you really say that’s not impressive enough to be put with the finalists?? Way bigger accomplishment than the Minnesota Wild and the Leafs (no offense)
I’m just saying all the questioning of where Foote is on this list, which he does deserve to be on it, is due to their success in the playoffs and not the fact they squeaked into the playoffs last game of the season.
