Hello everyone, here are the ratings after 8! Good luck everyone going into the final week and good luck everyone in playoffs. To those not going, I already packed some extra clubs and you'll find me on the back 9. See you on the green. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_BlNqPLgb9qNtGNRA9Hq2hUlOix5_Nc_3w_aSBA6VVo/edit?usp=sharing
@ClumsyTurtle13 How much do the ratings vary from week to week? Do you think it's possible for me to pass @ItsKingLyme for 1st place this week or is the gap too much to overcome? Not that I think I'll be able to pass him because he'll probably score 25 goals this week lmao, but just out of curiosity
@bonwl So your score is a combination of your scores from each atat category obviously. The number of points you get for a stat is based on how much of it you have compared to the guy with the most of that stat (ratio) times the weight. So let's say you have 10 goals and the leader has 20 goals and the weight for goals is 40. Your score would be 10/20*40=20. So now that we are farther in the season and stats have compiled your ratios for each stat will move alot less and that's what determines score. For forwards the weight is pretty heavy for offense as it should be so if you are able to outscore him by a few goals or a few assists and match him everywhere else you can pick up a couple points to your overall. On the other hand if he has one bad game and you continue to put up consistent numbers that could be all it takes as well. Since you two are at such a high level one sub par game can drop you 0-5 points and a great game will maybe give you 2 tops. Looking at your stats compared to his, you can make up alot if you outscore or match him in goals this week and if you score more than 30% of your teams goals for your 3 games. So if your team scores 12 goals in your games then you want to have 5 or more of them so that your G% goes up.
Very nice. Thanks for the detailed response. Now I know what I need to do this week . Watch out @ItsKingLyme
If you are referring to plus minus, then that is possible. Plus minus has little to no affect on player ratings because it is a heavy team stat and does not necessarily show the skill of the player. It can be argued to be more important yes but I will give this example. One season I led the league at a +65 and this season I'm a -3 but I'm still playing the same and putting up just about the exact same numbers as the other season. But since my team is one of the worst in the league, we struggle to score and keep others off of it. That's kind of the point of the player ratings and why I made it in the first place. I wanted to give those trapped on bad teams more credit if they were still playing well and give more credit to those who were all around good players and not just good at scoring. I hope that helps a bit.
Hahahah that's okay man! Take your time. I'm very excited to see the final season rankings though lol
