We all have very similar opinions on which teams will win. Highest upset potential seems to be LnF over Simple Hockey even if I was the only one to pick it, most of us feel the series will be close. Olympus (16) vs Resilience (1): Many people are talking about how tough this first round matchup is for Resilience considering its a 1 vs 16, but I disagree. There are no bad playoff teams but theres a reason this team just barely cracked the playoffs and Resilience should take them down fairly easily. Only way I see Olympus making it close is with a heroic performance out of Friks. Nuge: Resilience in 5 Kush: Resilience in 4 Gren: Resilience in 5 Jemima: Resilience in 4 Bones: Reslience in 5 Sitful: Resilience in 6 Bert: High Hidden Potential (15) vs (2) We all think we'll win. Lost n Found (14) vs Simple Hockey (3): This could be one of the most entertaining series of round 1 with the simplest team in the league facing off with Kosmic "I'm on crack probably" EA. If LnF shows up to the best of their abilities and everyone keeps their cool this is a very even series, but theres always a possibility that everyone loses full and Simple runs away with it for free. Look for Kosmic to carry the offensive load with Rux carrying the breakout. Nuge: Kosmic in 7 Kush: Simple Hockey in 7 Gren: Simple Hockey in 7 Jemima: Simple Hockey in 7 Bones: Simple Hockey in 5 Sitful: Simple Hockey in 6 Bert: High Red Lights District (13) vs The Underdogs (4): The PS4 guys vs. The Oppressed French People. Underdogs should be able to take this series but RLD is a solid team that won't give them any games for free. Expect underdogs to run their offense through Mxtayer and Gabseh, and if both play up to their usual standards the Diamond and company will need to have their best games of the season to steal the series. Nuge: Underdogs in 6 Kush: Underdogs in 7 Gren: Underdogs in 7 Jemima: Underdogs in 6 Bones: Underdogs in 7 Sitful: Underdogs in 6 Bert: High Phantoms (12) vs Composure (5): Phantoms kind of took everyone by surprise making the playoffs so comfortably, while teams like Scary Hours and Gladiators missed out, but they'll need to really play above and beyond their regular season performance to take down Composure. Only way Composure really loses this series is if Foote sucks, and thats possible but I think he'll hold it together for at least one round to avoid the Odie sighs. Also hi Jakoo. Nuge: Composure in 4 Kush: Composure in 6 Gren: Composure in 5 Jemima: Composure in 4 Bones: Composure in 6 Sitful: Composure in 6 Bert: High Heroes (11) vs Legacy (6): Legacy falling to the 6th seed despite being one of the very top teams in the game is surprising. Heroes can definitely feel a bit frustrated getting this first round matchup despite having a solid regular season themselves. With Gwan back on his typical LD position, I don't think Legacy will have the same defensive coverage issues that have plagued them in previous playoffs. Losing Jonez might hurt Legacy but I dont think they'll need any crazy performances from their goaltender in this series to lock it up easily. Nuge: Legacy in 5 Kush: Legacy in 5 Gren: Legacy in 6 Jemima: Legacy in 5 Bones: Legacy in 5 Sitful: Legacy in 5 Bert: High Most Wanted (10) vs Entourage (7): THE PRESEASON TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS and they will let you know about it face off with Most Wanted, a solid french team who might be able to steal some games. Entourage can be very inconsistent which leaves the door open for any decent team to maybe sneak a few games. My guess is Kyle and George will hold it together so Entourage doesnt drop the series, but this could be a fun one to watch. Nuge: Entourage in 7 Kush: Entourage in 6 Gren: Entourage in 6 Jemima: Entourage in 7 Bones: Entourage in 7 Sitful: Entourage in 6 Bert: High Prophecy (9) vs Sold Out (8): Probably the best series of round 1 given the seeding and the talent of both teams. Sold Out cut Carch midway through the season and actually struggled down the stretch without him. Prophecy also struggled through the end of the season with 3 losses each of the last 3 weeks of the season. Both teams are looking to prove something in round 1, but I personally think Rick will be able to carry Sold Out in a very even matchup. The rest of the guys feel differently.
