Continuing off of my last thread where I ranked the goalie tandems in the Eastern Metropolitan Division, I will now rank the goalie tandems in the Atlantic Division. Let me tell you firstly that this was quite a bit more difficult than the Metro just because of the raw talent spread across this division. Again as per my last post, some disclaimers before we dive in: - These are my personal rankings - This list is dedicated to goalies and goalies only, no weight was given to the team playing in front of them - If you and your goalie partner got ranked lower than you feel you should have, use it as motivation to prove me wrong, the same goes for tandems that got ranked high, prove it! With that being said, lets get into it! Atlantic Division 1. Tampa Bay Lightning (Projected) Starter: Ucantcme_kamakaz Backup: DoubleZERO33 Why #1? When both of your goalies from S12 are in the running for the vezina, it's not hard to rank them together as the top goalie tandem in not only the Atlantic, but in the whole league. The only reason I have Kamakaz as the starter is because his stats were better, but both of these guys consistently stand on their head giving their team a chance to win night in and night out. I got a chance first-hand to see Kamakaz shut the door, when I had the pleasure (displeasure) of playing him in the first round of playoffs in S12. Both these goalies are shoe-ins for the vezina this season as well, I am expecting big things from both this coming season. 2. Ottawa Senators (Projected) Starter: KingKonz- Backup: l-x_Marner_x-l Why #2? Simply put, this duo is straight up gross. As I stated in my bidding post, Konz is undeniably one of the best goalies on PS4, and is able to steal games consistently no matter who is playing in front of him. Backing Konz up is one of the best goalies in the AHL last season in Marner. A 500k contract does not do this guy justice, as he can 100% be a starter in the NHL. In summary, Ottawa's goaltending will be the least of their problems this year, with basically 2 starters manning the crease. 3. Toronto Maple Leafs (Projected) Starter: xXiCb4uCxX Backup: KeEn_CJ Why #3? In this tandem, we have a case where either of the 2 can end up being the starter come playoff time. I leaned towards iC due to his higher salary ($1.25 Million), and slightly better stats, but not unlike Ottawa as well as Tampa, both of these guys can be starters on NHL teams. I strongly believe that with the roster they have in front of them this season, a deep playoff run is coming. 4. Boston Bruins (Projected) Starter: eIGringo86 Backup: Ima5thLiner Why #4? Another tough one in terms of who is the starter and who is the backup, but I ended up choosing Gringo based on his place in vezina voting. Gringo posted excellent numbers last season. Bob on the other hand, had a breakout season with Columbus, getting them deep into the playoffs. With that experience under his belt now, I feel that like Toronto, with Gringo and Bob in net that they are poised to make a deep run in this years playoffs. 5. Montreal Canadiens (Projected) Starter: Xeazyklllx Backup: MikeeTeeze Why #5? Although this tandem doesn't pop out in terms of talent, both of these guys had solid numbers last season. I expect the same this season on a good Canadiens roster. Interestingly, while I was doing my research for this team, I noticed that they had 3 goalies on roster. I'm not sure if that's some sort of error or not, but still interesting to note. 6. Detroit Red Wings (Projected) Starter: natesous10 Backup: FittNASTY Why #6? I put myself and Fitt this far back due to the fact that we have limited NHL experience, and that obviously poses some questions. I believe that we could hold our own season, but that will require consistent play from both of us, which I believe we are completely capable of. 7. Florida Panthers (Projected) Starter: . XxKickaPooXx Backup: Agger23 Why #7? Florida lacks a clear cut starter which could hurt them especially come playoff time where they need people to step up. The positive in the Panthers' situation currently is that in this battle for the #1 spot, the opportunity that both goalies have good seasons is present. 8. Buffalo Sabres (Projected) Starter: Lach12 Backup: immortalbmw Why #8? Only 1 out of the 2 goalies on this team played last season, and didn't have great stats compared to other goalies. Immortal hasn't played goalie in LG since S11 and didn't have stellar stats that season either. Both goalies look to bounce back this season on an above average Sabres team. If anything you guys should be lower. MurderMass and OfficerBob as a duo isn't exactly a world beating pair. The defense in front of you is quite good though
