Thanks for the link. I did find this in there: Online: No fantasy draft but online leagues. Can only play with your created teams. The leagues will allow users to have the same players on different teams. I really dont like that at all. I mean how will stats look, you'll have 4 Joe Montanas?
Well that was a good read if you want some info on the game, just skip over all the questions and read the answers from the guy who played it. It sounds like 2k fans will like it since its basically the same game as 2k5 and they can finally play it on the 360. But i cant see it appealing to the average gamer with no NFL license, no franchise mode and very bare bones presentation. And the one thing i was interested in, online leagues, doesnt really appeal to me now that i know theres going to be the same players on different teams. But the gameplay is supposedly great so ill wait for the demo and see if that convinces me.
yeah i agree with you too drake. i mean it might be a fun offline game for a bit but i dont really see the replay value
The impressions made for good sounding gameplay, but the lack of customization is the big killer for me. I knew there would be no NFL etc., but I was looking something new to get into and this is not looking that new to me. This is NFL2K5 without the NFL, adding the famers, same gameplay, next gen EA 1st and 2nd yr watered down football treatment. Not even close to my $59.99!
Yeah that is a letdown for the leagues. The only way around it would be to have a live draft in the forums and then let everyone go and pick their teams offline and then create the league.....
Thats a good idea. Although you will still get duplicates in the non-legends that the computer picks if im reading it right. Still thats workable i guess.
Still seems like a lot of extra hassle that should have been a primary focus of the development team. When you don't have the NFL license, you have to go that extra mile to compete, that especially includes fleshing out a comprehensive online mode.
Especially when you're lead to believe all along that the game's lack of features is to focus on the online aspect.
this game sounds crappier by the day...the first I heard of this game made it sound so sweet. I'll check out the demo and maybe rent it, but I don't think it'll convince me to buy it.
I could be eating my own words a few posts up, but in my new copy of Game Informer, they seem to think the gameplay stomps madden and that the AI is unbeleivable. I'm still buying NCAA, but it's still up in the air about those other Football games.
I doubt you'll be eating your own words. 2k is dropping the ball. I know all those who worship at the 2k altar will think otherwise, but I'm betting this game is a flop. Even some 2k enthusiasts are skeptical, which is really a bad sign. The game has no replay value in single player. Madden is finally looking up to par. I think the overriding point has to be that exclusive licenses should have never happened in any sport. With that said, APF seems destined to be a niche game this year. WIth crappy graphics, no worthwhile single player modes and rosters filled with legends and no-names, I don't think gameplay can overcome its shortcomings. Worst yet, its an unfinished game and it costs 60 bucks. Deep into a Franchise, I enjoy the drafts, evaluating talent and running the financial end of the franchise as much as the game itself. For those that can buy both, more power to you, but I'm a Madden guy.
yeah, but did you guys read the new Game Informer? they thinks it's gameplay is much better. I've never been a 2k fan, I've always been an EA guy, but Madden's gone south over the past few games. I think APF might be worth a try. NCAA 08 is still gonna be my football game, but I'll probably try both APF and Madden.
I just read the article and they had nothing but praise for the game. But, as they say, the proof is in the pudding. I'm looking forward to trying it.
football is football.. no need to be a fan boy of either game.. try em both out and play what you enjoy more!!
I have faith in 2k sports. Gameplay is all that matters to me. Single player may be lacking this year but I mostly play against someone else. Besides we only play football games for 1 calendar year until the next release. I'm buying AP2K, Madden and NCAA. I still think Madden will be last amongst hardcore gamers. And when will Madden get a new gameplay engine?
