Welcome to the first LG FIFA Euro 2008 tournament! and I have decided to make this a short & sweet tournament similar to the actual one taking place overseas (with a few changes). Once this is complete, we can keep rolling with other tournaments and add new members to keep things fresh.

In keeping with the tradition of LG, you are expected to conduct yourselves in a kind, respectful manner and create a gaming experience that is enjoyable for all. This, like all other LG 1v1 leagues, is a SIM league. No exploiting moves/glitches in the game (not many that I know of at the moment), if done, you will find your way out of this league in a hurry. Play as if it was a genuine football (soccer) game. If you're up by 3 or more goals in the second half, don't always press offense. Pass around more and look at using up time off the clock. Mix up your plays, don't always try to do the same move over and over again.

We will have a total of 20 teams with 2 conferences. An ELITE conference (containing divisions Group A and Group B). These will have the strongest teams (rating wise) in them. The PRO conference (Group C and Group D) will contain the lesser rated teams. Each Group will have 5 teams. Each team plays every other team in their group twice (1 home and 1 away), for a total of 8 games. The top 2 teams in each group will advance to the playoff round, where winners advance. The final championship game will be the winner of the ELITE conference vs. the winner of the PRO conference.

Standings will be based on the traditional point system for football (soccer). 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. During the round robin phase, when a game is tied after regulation time, THAT IS THE FINAL SCORE. There is no way to turn off extra time & penality kicks in the game set-up. EXTRA TIME & PENALITY KICKS DO NOT COUNT (although you are always welcome to play it for FUN after you've taken down the stats). They will only count during the playoff rounds.

A1 vs B2
B1 vs A2

C1 vs D2
D1 vs C2


Yellow & Red Cards

With the LG scoreboard active, it enables us to record both yellow and red cards issued to players. In keeping with the SIM aspect of gaming and FIFA rules, we are implementing the same rules. Once a player receives his second yellow card, he will be suspended for the next match and is not permitted to play in that game. If a player receives a red card (and is ejected from that game), he will also be suspended for the next 2 matches and can not play. If an owner is caught not following these rules and using a player you shouldn't be, then that game in which the player was to be suspended for, will be an automatic forfeit. So please, follow these rules (we will be watching you )


Disconnect & Game Freeze Policy

In the event of the game freezing or a player is disconnected, the follow rules will apply. If the event occurs during the 1st half, then everything is null and void and the game is restarted from the beginning. In the event of it occuring during the 2nd half (any scoring done during this 2nd half is null and void however, all 1st half scores count), then a game is restarted but ONLY the 1st half needs to be played to complete the game. THIS IS WHY WE ARE ASKING THE HOME TEAM TO WRITE DOWN THE STATS DURING HALFTIME (a score sheet will be provided to you shortly). If stats are not taken down at halftime and a disconnect/freeze occurs, then the entire game has to be played from scratch.


Game Settings

When you are home , you are the host of the game . The only setting you have to change is to make it a PRIVATE SESSION. Everything else is default.


You will go to XBOX LIVE => XBOX LIVE CUSTOM MATCH => CREATE UNRANKED SESSION

HALF LENGTH : 6 Minutes *
* denotes default setting​

Then press on Create Session , your Xbox live friends list will appear and you will be prompted to choose one of your friends. You should add your opponent before the game is set-up though :wink:

Scoring and stat entry into the LG site is the sole resposibility of the home team (scoresheet will be provided shortly)


Schedule & Reliability Meters

With having an 8 game schedule for the round robin, you will be expected to complete at least 2 games per week. For every game missed by the deadlines set, a -10 will be deducted from your reliability meter. If you complete your games on time, a +10 will be added at each deadline. If you fall below 50%, you may be reviewed by the commissioners/admin and may be removed from the league. So please do your best to get your games done on time.

I was planning on grabbing this game to play in the league, but there is only 20 teams, so....I think there is already 20 people.

Read and sounds like a good idea. Like the idea about the stronger teams playing against each other, because idc how good you are that if you had italy and I had Kaziehstan and even if that person was better than you italy would win.. Hope I get a spot.

 

Awesome job and Barlett. Love that its seperated stronger teams from weaker teams. Excellent idea.

One question.....after the A and B play each other, do they play the winner of the other A and B division playoff match, and then they are the champs of the stronger teams, or is there ever a crossover to play the champs of C and D division playoffs?

You have until Tuesday night to make your decision. Bartlett and I are selecting the members to get into the league. Just because people sign up, doesn't necessarily mean they will get in. Besides, for the people that don't get into this season, they will most likely will get into next....

We may expand the tournament as well if popularity grows

 

Group A & B (ELITE conference) always play each other until the championship game as will Group C & D (PRO conference). The best from each conference plays for the Cup!

Hey and Bartlett, one more thing I just realised you guys need to decide.....what happens in the event that the game glitches. I've had the game "freeze" against random guys 2 or 3 times already when the ball goes out of bounds, and once this morning against Tim during a cutscene. I'm still able to talk to the opponent, but that's about it. None of the buttons work, and you can't pause the game because neither team has control of the ball. Only way out is to go back to the dashboard and reload the game.

So you guys need to decide if this constitutes a complete replay of the game, like in the singles hockey league, or if one half was completed, the other half is played or an amount of time to play is agreed upon, like the Madden league.

 

Good point OTH, i like the madden league rule for this one.
