http://www.forbes.com/2009/04/27/ci...laces-to-live_slide.html?partner=sympaticomsn Looks like Switzerland, Germany, Canada are the big players there.
No offense to Americans, but there isn't a single U.S. city listed there. I'm sure its their private heath care system that ranks them very low. Switzerland is one of my favor places in the world to visit
id rather have the health care that i have now then have to wait in line for it in canada. no offense
Pretty sure the longest ive ever had to wait at the doctors is like a half an hour. Which is still health care that you can "have now". Plus I don't have to pay a fee everytime I visit the doctor, in association with many other benefits to our health care system.
I just thought that list was pretty cool, no need to get in a fight over it haha. The Swiss are pretty quiet, other than federer I don't hear a whole lot going on over there haha. They must be trying to keep their awesome living a secret so no one else moves there ha.
And I don't think it's the health care in the US that would have them not in the top 20. Mostly would be cost of living + Crime and overall happyness of the citizens that would do it.
I strongly disagree Quality of life starts and ends with health care. Because if you don't have your health, you don't have anything.
Health Care is a huge part of happiness. I would agree that health care is a huge part of the equation. Our health care system that we have now is so far behind the rest of the planet that it's absolutely sad. While others are built to actually help the sick, our system is built to **** over the customer and make the rich obscenely rich. Orbital if you don't think it directly relates, you are crazy and I will be shooting the puck at the back of your head tonight as punishment . Find out how happy you are then
Where in the hell did I say health care wasn't important to overal happyness haha. I said and I quote "And I don't think it's the health care in the US that would have them not in the top 20" next response is "I strongly disagree Quality of life starts and ends with health care. Because if you don't have your health, you don't have anything. " I'll say it again.... I don't think it was the USA's health care system that graded them low, I don't think their health care system is that bad. Their crime rates are pretty high, their news/every aspect of any media is about death and destruction.. you have code blues code reds code purples code yellows to scare you to death. Forbes took quality of life as a whole to do that survey, they don't **** around. And on top of it all, the economy espectially in the US is at death levels, you owe BILLIONS to china. So i'm not in shock that a US city did not make the top 20, nor would I be in shock if Americans freaked out if they were not ha. And again, I did not say quality of health is not important haha jesus christ.
You said you didn't think it was the health care that kept people away and the US out of the top 20. I would find it much more likely that the US isn't in the top 20 because of ****ty health care rather than people getting the gloomies while watching the news lol. I would say Health Care contributes much more to overall happiness than crime rate and pretty warning levels on the TV do. This is all just coming from a guy that lives in the US though. What would I know? I think the average US citizen walks around more thinking and saying in their head "What if I get sick unexpectedly and my insurance doesn't cover the stuff I need?" rather than "Oh my lord, how are we gonna pay china back?!?!?!". Health care and unemployment is what my answer would be.
I don't claim to know more than you, you do live there haha. And you would be correct. Is most likely the major factors, but some people were defending your health care system, to which is fine. I'm just saying there are probably more factors involved in this like crime/economy/fear. But you are right, health care is probably number one. I'm going offside at least 10 times tonight you F'ing SOB! hahah
Unemployment is kinda a huge deal too....and if this health care bill passes its going to kill more jobs.
