Im not attacking 2k. Im a fan. I think thats been shown when 2k9 came out last year. But the glove for osgood and in general looks odd. Sorry if that rubs you the wrong way.
1. Looks like 2k took the EA route and supersized the puck 2. The goalie models in this series have been ****ed since 2k, 10 year anniversary of **** model anyone? 3. Ovie looks Chinese in Image 9 4. With the way they are pimping our the shot from the knees thing, I am very scared this is going to be a amazingly common occurrence.
As (your hero) Ben Bishop said in the IGN preview, this game is getting the sim-aspect done right, and stumble shots won't be an over-seen gimick that you see all the time. I think after you play the game you will agree its implimented correctly and at the right points of the game.
I will remind you this is the same guy that said the fog in the arenas and players breathing fire breath in 2k7 was there to boost the visual element, with the same NHL series that has had a franchise freeze present ever since NHL 2k. The only way they can implement it correctly is if it Ovie rolls around and scores some amazing bull**** goal just as often as the net comes loose in NHL 09.
ive seen the net come off 2-3 times in like 2500 games on NHL 09. Thats as often as you want to see it? Im all for simulation but no hockey will ever be perfect. seeing an animation like that once in 20 or so games would be pretty cool IMO.
doesnt have to be ovie. and i said or so. which means once every 20, 30, or 40 games. I wouldnt care either way. once every 20-40 games is small enough that you freak out when it happens. And is it even guaranteed that it goes in everytime?
one out of 500 games would be better. The goalies i have to say look better than they did last yr. No more Hunchback look which is a good thing. I have a feeling the skating mechanism will be the same though judging from these pix, and that will not be a good thing. One thing i couldnt stand about 2k was how the players would skate it looked like they were getting ready to take a dump.
