What is the reasoning for the "VHL Original" to move the Thursday @10 to Sunday @9?

 

Yea I totally agree with this decision. I know we are mixed into another league now but I feel that VHL times were definitely the best times.

even though i come from the VHL which means i am used to the 9pm and 10pm gametime, i decided to vote for option 2 because in my opinion option 2 could suit everyone. Sunday and Monday as beginning of the week would probably be easier to get players for the 11pm games rather than mid week.

With that being said i know how to make compromise and accommodate others, i went to please the majority so then everyone could have a good time but whatever is decided i will be fine with it

 

3 please but Sunday lets do a 1030 game so I can watch game o thrones

 

It's to give us an open slot Thursday at 10 for make up games

 

Still curious why we didn't consider just taking the originaly VHL Sun 10 Mon-Thur 9-10, add Sun 9 & a couple 11PM during the week?

That would give each player 4 games per week (assuming we're going 3 lines per team?) and it would also give players more variety of times to sign up to play in. Seems like a win for everyone, no?

 

i liked having the late games. i could actually make some of them after my classes.

 

I know it extreme case, but being in Pacific time zone I'm looking at -3:00 so these early games are really hard to manage (if you have a job, probably making it a bit more extreme case).
Id like to see a 9:15pm (in my experience it is when games start anyway) and it gives WestSiders time to take off our boots.

*unrealistic request* I wish i could do 1 & 2am EST games

 

As others have said, I don't see why it's such a big deal to set aside two games a week that you might not be able to play in, so that another 50-100 people can participate in the league at all? Really, the numbers of this poll were always going to be slanted towards option 3, but I think most people who voted for options 1 or 2 would gladly accept either or if it made the difference in them being able to play or not.

At the end of the day, there are players in LG who chose this league over VHL for the simple fact it was more accommodating to their individual schedules. For myself personally, the difference between options 1 & 2 compared to 3 is with 1 and 2 I could be available without question for 4 games a week, with #3 that would be limited to 2 games on Sunday only (which would likely lead to my resignation from the league).

No love for the west coast ... Give us some 11's we already have to play on your shitty host.

 

So why is VHL original on there?

 

There needs to be some 11 oclock games for those of us that live on the west coast. Those that work the day shift are having to rush home to make those 9 oclock games. So if there has to be a 9oclock game it should be on Sunday. I believe the rest should run 10 and 11. It is what has worked here in the past and has had no issues other than running into those VHL games but hey thanks to that shit show meltdown we dont have to worry about that anymore.

We state we are the best community in hockey but as a group we can't give the west coast players at least 3 games to not have to leave work/family early to play? This shouldn't be an issue for us to give them a few games. For the West Coast players both sundays "work" correct if so why not just move thursday to 11pm for them then there is always atleast 3 games they can make being on the west coast. (Personally 11pms suck for me but I'm willing to give up 9/9 avail to help out people on the west coast who want to be a part of the biggest and best league without having to stress)
