LG and Club

Yeah, I know. This has been said a million times before. But this time it has to happen.

In the past 2 summer seasons, lag has plagued everyone. For whatever reason (money is the reason) EA decides to stop caring about the NHL servers come summertime. This makes the season tedious to say the least. Luckily, the servers stayed relatively stable the other 9 months of the year.

Well, at least until this season. Right around playoff time, the servers started to suck. By the conference finals, almost every game saw lag play a part in the game's outcome. This is unacceptable and, quite frankly, stupid.

When moving LG games to club was discussed in the past, I was always anti doing so. Obviously, issues with people not wanting to leave their clubs, finding ECUs, club cooldown, etc. made moving LG to club, in my opinion, a bad idea that made being management that much less appealing.

However, the time has come. The summer season cannot be played in lobbies.

My proposal:
For Season 18, move LG to club. Once season 19 comes around on the One, connection should be better. At that point, move LG back to lobbies.

 

And, as for the obvious OCR issue. Yeah, it sucks that the technology might not be able to be used if we play in club. But, by season 19 on the One, we shouldn't have lag issues and the lobby connection should be more than good enough.

Playing games that aren't decided by lag is more important than using the site tools imo. And, like I said, by season 19, we will be back in a spot where we can use the OCR and all the other cool stuff Tris has in store for next gen LG.

It doesn't matter if lg is in club or not. Lag outs happen in club just as much as they do in otp. So keep it the way it is, no point in changing it.

Lag outs might happen but at least the connection doesn't have to suck dick all the time.

 

I dont want to do ownership if I have to round people up on to a club every night. Make a decision soon so I can step down if needed.

 

once we bring like 90 plus games into club all at once then it will just be like otp probably, plus like nuge said, im not organizing to make a damn club every night and if we need an ecu ill just want to murder myself.

Also I agree with this but there would be a lot of wahhhhhhhh so at least come playoff time where the games actually mean something. I don't understand how people want connection to dictate games?

Well, can't say I didn't try. I used to have the standpoint Nuge and kopitar do now. But, after hearing complaints from everyone about lag in lobbies in April, I couldn't keep my previous viewpoint. Lag is going to really kill season 18.

And, to debunk Cake's theory, club doesn't lag when there are 2,000 or 3,000 clubs playing at peak hours. Why would adding 90 clubs matter?

 

Lagging is going to happen no matter what. If the league wants to move to club thats fine, just let owners out of their commitments if theres going to be a major rule change like that.
