International play?

Some people will think this is really stupid. Some will think this sounds like a good idea. I don't really care.

the question is, Are we going to have any type of international play?

If yes, how will we do it?

Will we do it like the LGIHL? or do it where each player is assigned a nationality for when they sign up for the first time and thats who they can play for? or a different way?

If no, then why not?

Feel free to discuss ideas below.

 

The first beta season hasnt even started. LEts figure out the Youth Teams first and Senior Teams. Figuring out Cups and maybe Owners first. Lets wait a few seasons.

 

yeah i understand. It's really early and stuff. I just thought I could get some idea's flowing. I'm not saying to implement it in Season 1, I'm just asking people if you guys think it is a good idea, and if you have any cool ideas for the future

yeah bro no shit... I'm talking about incorporating international play some where down the road. Of course not season 1, but i'm saying later in this league. I was just trying to get ideas going... lol

 

It's an intriguing idea for sure, but one for further down the road when the league takes off finally. It'd be difficult deciding who would be the manager of each International team, perhaps each existing manager could apply to be the manager of their national team, and the league officials can chose from the pool of volunteers. Those managers could then pick players from all possible players in the league to make up their team in a snake draft format.

But again, it would be an idea that would have to be discussed down the road. Right now there's only 60 sign-ups so far, granted we have a little while before the game even comes out. Right now I'd say all we could do is an All-Star game like the LGHL after season.

 

International play is much further down the road and there is really no point it discussing it at this time. I am worried about getting the Premier league started and moving into the championship league first. Once we have two full divisions, aka 44 teams, then maybe someone will come along and do USA vs Canada thing like the NHL does or something like that. If you want to mimic the LGIHL, that's outside of the normal league as well. Right now everyone should focus on getting our name out there to the FIFA community and recruiting players.

Guys listen. I completely understand that this won't happen for a while. I just thought it's a cool idea and it would get some activity on the forums.

 

IFVPA already does this. Look them up. i'm not saying that we shouldn't look at this down the road, but IFVPA is fine by me until we can create a better alternative.

The reason why most start up FIFA leagues fail is because they do too much too quickly without a dedicated player base and it just blows up in their face. Obviously we have the luxury of having a lot of potential fifa players, but that doesn't give us the excuse to turn away from the typical model that has worked time and time again. Establish the core league first and all extra additives will come in due time.

 

I have said this a milllion times. I know this is long down the road. I was just getting the forums active, and so members could discuss ideas. nothing more than that....

 

But we need to discuss what needs to be done NOW so that the league can take off in the near future

An All-Star game around the holidays would be fun, no one would take it tooooo serious as its season 1 but they would still feel an immediate reward for there hard efforts in the first beta.

its 2¢ compared to the $1
but i feel the all star game should be in season one as it really wont hurt those who cant make it (1 require confirmation of availability of both XI, 2 it doesnt count for anything in the bigger picture just a neat accolade.)
