Hello Everyone So for the past few weeks I've been working on a secret project for LG, LGv5. For those somewhat new to LG, LGv means "Leaguegaming Version". We are currently in LGv4, so LGv5 would basically be the next version of LG. Now whats significant about LGv5 is its going to be a complete reconstruction and rebuild of Leaguegaming.com. After doing much research for about 4 months, I've decided we will no longer continue using "vBulletin" as our forum and user base software, and instead move to Xenforo. The tipping factor that pushed me towards Xenforo is mainly speed. We are seeing speed improvements (no lie) at about 3x-10x faster page loads. Its an incredible improvement. If you thought LG was fast, and its lack of cloud errors were impressive, you've seen nothing yet. Also Xenforo was built in the modern internet age and has a lot of modern features that ill explain below. This project started about 3 weeks ago, and has no firm launch date, but we hope in the next 2 months. This is a huge deal in regards to all the LG tools, features and programming we have as Xenforo's database architecture is completely different then vBulletin, and every feature, tool, plugin, skin, template and query has to be redone to work around Xenforo. Since this is such a giant job , I've decided to take this as an opportunity to reinvent ourselves. For the most part we've been running on the same idea structure of vbulletin 4 for the last 6 years, and much of what we added has been tacked on. I've always believed LG was a leader in inovation and its time to get back to this philosophy. Leaguegaming is now "Your Virtual Career", and everything we do with LGv5 will be based around this concept. Also this will be a prime opportunity to really better integrate next gen features into the site and leagues such as game clips, screen shots and live streams. Features we "tacked" on but can do a much better job on." With Xenforo the site will also look and feel much different since its a different forum software, but we are also using the great talents of @The MainEvent to help us design all the major aspects of the site. With his design talents, mixed with the idea's and concepts of @Ozzyng2 , @MCDONALD l19l , @F5 Penguin and myself, We really think LG will truly be put us far and away one of the best sites on the internet for online gaming. Although we aren't ready to announce any of the "League" features we plan on adding to LGv5, we can show you some forum improvements that come with Xenforo, Here is a quick list of all the additions speed (3x-10x faster) better pm/convo system @ tag usergroups Responsive Design (no separate mobile skin, much better for browsing on your cell phone or tablet) every time displayed can be at the users local time (ie the Game Times no longer need to be EST) "login with", better external account linking system Trophy System native alert system native newsfeed system native follow system popup overlays If you want to see a demo of just Xenforo running LG content and how some of the features will look, i've made these 2 videos for the the LG staff to ponder over (General) (Responsive Design) We'll post more about LGv5 the closer we get to launch, we also open up this thread to all your ideas, comments and suggestions of features, tools or additions you'd like to see! Thanks for your time and feedback ladies and gentlemen.
wow guys, you are going so far a beyond what i thought could ever been done in any virtual league and then you go farther, fucking good shit.
Tris10 This is a list of things I am willing to give you in bed because of your contributions to virtual internet hockey buttons.
If you paid more attention to what was said, you would know there is no "layout" added yet. The design team is putting that together. What i displayed in those videos was Xenforo's default skin , but was just showing the programming/functionality.
STUNNING! I love the commitment to giving us more integration for our mobile devices. I hardly ever view the site on a PC which means I can't see all of your more advanced pages.
