As some of you may know, me and a couple others will be deciding the award nominees and winners for the AHL this season. YAY!!! Anyways, I thought it would be nice to give some recognition to our league leaders, giving a sort-of sneak peak into some award winners (stat-based awards), as well as recognizing those who excelled in certain areas, that do not have awards, this season. Cute but no most of my shots seemed to just be keeping the puck in the zone this season wasn't getting the right mix for me but cool stuff. Its all in good fun and while we are referring to blindfolds seems like you took yours off from last seasons playoffs. jking but thanks for the mention.

 

Well, for any subjective award (Cunningham, Shore, Bastien, etc.), the player will have had to have played a significant amount of games to have made the impact they needed to be considered anyway. Based on our criteria, the only award that's criteria actually specifies games played is the Holmes Memorial Award (lowest GAA with 25 min. GP), but like I said, some guy with 15 games played isn't going to be winning league MVP or Best Defender or Best Goalie, because it's impossible to have done enough in just 15 games to win an award like that. If there was a 25 game minimum to every award however, a guy who went on IR for one week and only played 3 games in week 9 will have only played 24 games, assuming he showed up for every single one, and therefore he wouldn't be eligible for any awards. If he went on IR for 2 weeks, not eligible. It makes sense that the real AHL does it that way because players are able to play all 82 games.

I just figured that since a forward or defender can play a maximum of 28 games played in a season, 20 would be a reasonable number. I suppose it could be higher when considering goalie stats, but then again some goalies only play 3 games per week, and it goes back to what I said before about IR and all that.

I wasn't too sure because last season I only played 24 games and wasn't eligible for any goalie awards even though I wouldn't of won anything. I was trying to find in the forums if it said anything about it.

Apparently I picked the wrong season to be in the ahl if I had done it this season I would have gotten the points lead along with goals.

 

I couldn't have possibly done this alone. I'd like to thank everyone that made this possible.
First off, BRIERE |48|, if it wasn't for you pulling me up to the St. Louis Blues from a CHL team I was looking forward to playing for, then being super fucking shady by trying to fuck my schedule and stats by putting my name in a game I didn't play...I would never have called out your shady ass, which caused you guys waive me. Only to be picked up by an AHL team that didn't have a spot for me...to be bounced around, finally landing at Utica, right before the GM quit. And a big shout out to all the Utica guys that didn't show up for the games they were scheduled, or bothering to show up early to practice.
