People Not Signing Up

There has been a ton of talk around the community about the sign ups being low. We were expecting roughly 3,000-4,000 sign-ups bc that is what happened when LG took over for VHL. Right now we are no where close to that and I was just wondering why.

Ive noticed over the past week on the CB and talking with people in parties that they have just simply not signed up yet. Is there a reason why you have not signed up and if so what is it? There is no point in this I am just curious and a number of people seem to think it has to do with LG itself but I think the talent level will be there for the NHL and AHL this season.

 

I am waiting to see if people I like get ownership.

Same. I am voluntarily purging myself even though I wasn't on the purge list.

Also, I kind of suck at this game.

 

I'd venture to guess that not that many people are playing the game in general this year on the One. PS4 probably took a nice chunk of the community, many probably didn't get a next gen system, etc. LG might also need to market themselves a little bit better to the new players.

For me personally, I'm still not certain what my availability will be just yet, and so I don't want to sign up if I can only play a couple nights a week. That and I still need to buy the game.

 

Personally I'm not signing up because of the maturity level I've seen in the chatbox. It seems like the majority of the people chatting are 10 years old..I could be wrong....just my opinion.

 

@NugeTV Why'd they dummy down all of the settings for the nubs? The game plays like rugby. The tips were evident in the beta and are now completely gone. Pass interceptions were on point in the beta and now we can't even pick a puck up.

I'm playing. Just curious if a Full NHL team draft was ever discussed for the 1st season since all rosters, owners, and management were going to be starting from scratch. Seem like old drafts we only had a few known people but this opening season it would have been at least interesting. I'm not saying we should of done it. I'm just curious if it was discussed and if so if it could be elaborated as to why the league decides not to.

 

How about the people who don't even have an Xbox one yet?

HAIRY, you should know in all reality there is no more than 15-ish people like that out of the few thousand, its a shame that most of them are also very active in there too. We have an ignore feature in the chat now (past couple seasons) so you can easily not have to deal with it.

I hope that nobodies bases their decision on this small fraction of people in the community. I know it appears to be a lot more or the community as a whole but there are TONS of people who respect Tris & co. too much to degrade the site and the effort put into it to improve people's gaming experience.

We are still working on the limits of which we will allow but hope people will see this takes time and support the site by at least participating in the leagues.

 

I think this is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. I'm sure there are ways to prevent this from happening. @MCDONALD l19l and @Ozzyng2 I have a couple of ideas if you're interested.

 

I think your numbers are a bit high. As Brodie said in the podcast those numbers would be more expected in the 2nd season of this year.

+3000 (around 3500) should be the expectation of the final number of people who joined by the end of season. I think the starting number was more around 2300-ish but hearing that a lot more people are waiting to go directly to AHL or CHL, or still deciding what pos. they want to play, that number might not get reached until AHL bidding starts and the balance of CHL players sign up.

The current number of sign ups is on a tight pace to be where it should be. Low enough to question it but not bad enough to worry with all the factors that go into a season like this (systems, getting back into leagues, waiting for fixes/patchs, etc, etc)
