This is sort of an idea I've always wanted to see come to LG. From past experience on another site on another sport, some of you may know where this comes from when I explain it.

I'm looking to try and run our own "Communtiy Shield", could be call a "Community Cup". I'm sure you're wondering, what the fuck is a community shield who the fuck would want to play on Fridays?

What? : The community shield is an event where a group of people sign up to be captains. The captains will have a set time before games to draft from the list of people that sign up to play on a Friday. After the draft is finished, all teams are seeded into a bracket and play a one game elimination tournament.

When? : Read the title, FRIDAYS! Look to have the draft run 8-9 eastern and then games would probably run to midnight all depending on the amount of captains.

Why? : Main purpose of this can come from different points.

One could be you just want to play organized 6s when you have nothing to do. So why not get yourself familiarized with other members of the community and have some fun. The main purpose of this is to enjoy yourself and have some fun.

Another area is you're new and want to get a look with other 6s players. There's endless reason for why this could be useful for you to sign up.

Who? : I'll be willing to take the front run on this and making it work. I would like other people of a committee to help make this possible. If interested comment below or pm me.

At the end of the day, a lot of you may not be available on a Friday but there's no denying that the community is still there. This isn't looking to be a every Friday event but to be encouraged to be ran whenever possible.

With all of this being said, what do you guys think? What adjustments do you recommend? Would you be interested in this such event? Would like to see this start next Friday. Comment below.

I like the idea, I don't play much but have been interested in playing a little more. Can't promise I'll always be available on Friday's but it would be cool if there was a signup window up until the draft.

Captains are done for tonight's, there'll be a captain sign up thread for the week of when we are running it.

The sign up window I believe will close a hour before the draft? It's on the main forum. @Tris10 can you confirm when the sign up window will close with the draft starting at 8pm eastern?
