S23 AHL Awards

Hey @F5 Penguin, any word on if they'd be taken care of before the S24 All Star game?

 

Yep. So I can't speak on previous Award seasons. I wasn't in charge or responsible for them. I don't know why they did or didn't get done in the past. Not on me there. In S23 and moving forward for all leagues on LG, the Media Team will be responsible for putting on the Awards and the ASGs. With your access in the Media Forum, I'm sure you've seen talk of this.

That said, the committee has been put together for the Awards and they will be finalized during the playoffs. We're slating them to be released upon completion of the CHL Memorial Cup, with all 3 leagues for the LGHL being released the same day.

 

We demand some LG-specific awards:

MadeOfTwoFaces Trophy: Awarded to the player with the most points against teams that finished in the bottom ten overall.

Gunwoat Award: Awarded to the player with the most points against teams that finished in the top ten overall.

Macros Award: The player with the most time spent overall in the AHL shoutbox and a founding member thereof.

Lady Laing Management Trophy: Awarded to the GM who spent the most time begging other teams to take pity and trade him good players.

Kopitar Memorial Award: To the GM who had the most roster players quit after the trade deadline.

 

Let's see if @F5 Penguin delivers or not.

 

I'm not even sure what this is supposed to mean. This is the first time I've been given direct responsibility to do the awards and gather the committees. If you'll look over at the PSN side of things, both the AHL and NHL were handed out.

 

Yes I'm aware and generally these have always been said to come out shortly after the post season and generally not delivered. We have your first attempt so we as a community can only wait and see if you deliver or its status quo.

 

Since S17, I believe they have come out for 17, 18 and 19. I don't know if they came out for 20, they did for 21, and then 22 everyone died in a fire apparently. Generally is ambiguous.

 

Do you have a list of the AHL award categories? 90% of them were givens.

 

I do, yes. The committee also has them. I think we found a handful where math is gonna get involved and they will do the homework on.

 

So is the committee going to take care of the season 23 awards?

 

Still waiting on my S22 Playoff MVP Trophy... where do I pick it up?

 

I mean that's what I was saying in the first post. There's 3 people who are handling the ahl. That is unless you're asking who is going to assign the actual award to the profiles. That's done by the league staff which I work with and send over the awards list prior to them going public.

 

Um, that's my fault. I built a shrine around it and no one is getting it back ever.

I'm not having people go back and do awards when they've just committed to do these. If you'd like to grab you and 2 people to make that happen, and present them to me, then I'll definitely get with the League Staff and get you those awards though. I'm all for that if the community can put it together. But I'd only do it if we can arrange it for all 3 leagues. Would only be fair.

 

@Coach Crass Whats the need for the s22 awards? Do you need them that much?

 

Whats the point of having awards to begin with? If we can't do something correctly what's the point of doing it at all?

 

And they have nothing better to do then to go back to seasons in which it wasn't done?
