S2 Playoffs R1 : Tampa Bay Lightning vs Florida Panthers

I will make a write up for each match ups for the playoffs round 1 during the weekend. Each write ups will have the same format. I will analyse both teams forwards, defencemen, goaltenders and ecu pool separately as well as finishing it up with a conclusion and a faceoff between a player of each team.

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING VS FLORIDA PANTHERS

Here's an exciting matchup between offensive young guns and all around veterans. Florida is one of these team that surprised everyone this season. They are now going head-to-head against the defending stanley cup champions - the team to beat - in the first round. Will they surprise the league once again or will they get their brains blown out? Read below before voting!

1. FORWARDS: Advantage Florida

Owner @x KingCIutch x and GM @MPelley25 whom are both centermen filled up their forward group with a bunch of quality 1-way highly offensive versus/hut players. The Young Panthers plays the speedy game like no others. Fast breakouts, acceleration, deking, shoots for rebound, try the slot... they don't waste time trying the perfect play. Guys like LW @I-CrAzYLiiSh-I and C @PheNoMeNaLxOnE17 are top notch goal scorers but they aren't known for their patience. Right when the puck drops in game 1 in Tampa Bay they will need to stick to what paid off during the season.

The Lightning lacks depth at the center and at the forward position in general but they can rely on thumbs gifted wingers to fill the void. While LW @DDW4 and RW @Kopi should end up being their respective centers #1 and #2, the actual centermen of the team should have trouble adjusting to wing. Finding the back of the net could be a problem for the team if the 2 forwards listed above as well as @BH3 and @Bknottz92 doesn't play to their full potential. Relying too much on individual talent could cost them if the Panthers ends up playing a good defensive game.

2. DEFENCEMEN: Advantage Tampa Bay

The defending Champs have the best top 4 in the league, plain and simple. A good mix of offensive, two-way
and stay-at-home Defencemen. When you got @JERZ Network , @marino swag as well as GM @Nuge and Owner @v Sloshy in your line up, you know that you have a chance to win every time one of them is on the ice. If they stay focused they should be able to shutdown Florida's speedy forwards...but not without headaches.

Compared to Tamba, Florida's defensive squad looks rather weak. Other than @bievsea and @holymoly669 , no name really stands out of the lot. They still can count on 6 good, above average dmen. The Panthers will most likely end up spending most of the games in their own defensive zone but if the team rally up and plays a good 5-man defensive game they could get out alive. However it is expected that they will give up alot of scoring chances.

3. GOALTENDING: Equal

Middle sitting won't do it in this series.

Florida can bank on 2 hot goaltenders in @Mollet_29 and @Tposey34 . Mollet has been playing insanely good all season and should be their starting goalie. Having a reliable backup gives the Panthers the opportunity to make a line up change to shake things up if needed...and without fear. Mollet shouldn't be receiving many shots but the ones that will hit the net will be devastating.

Tampa bay also has 2 hot goaltenders in @MIKE I81I and @oNo_SHuX . This duo is just as good as their opponent's. Mike should start the series expecting alot of action, alot of shots, but mostly short side and low rebounds ones.

4. ECU POOL: Advantage Tampa Bay

The Bolts have alot of hidden talent in their AHL team, the Syracuse Crunch. Almost all of their forwards are ''elite'' or ''hot'' as per LGHL ranking system. They could use some of them to help out the NHL team if needed.

Other than @i-Bone__Crusha-i who's ranked #1 in NHL16 versus, the Portland Pirates doesn't have much to offer. The Panthers will definitely give this guy a game in the first round because he is an absolute beast centerman in EASHL.

5. FACEOFF:

Here are the 2 best Left wingers of their respective team. Both of them are long time 6's players which makes them reliable in the D zone as well as incredibly dangerous in the O zone. They know the drill. They have immense individual talent. @I-CrAzYLiiSh-I is at his best in the corners. He makes it very hard and costly to try and steal the puck from him. He's a natural goal scorer and he's in Florida for that specific reason. @DDW4 is considered the best player on both consoles by many for a good reason. The dude just does it all and is impossible to stop with his mutant thumbs. The guy is also used to play competitive games and is known not to crack under pressure. It will be interesting to follow these 2 in this series.

6. CONCLUSION:

This matchup has the potential to end up being the most exciting one of the 1st round. Tampa Bay definitely starts this series as favorites but it could get ugly fast. The Panthers are capable of winning 3 games if @Mollet_29 plays like a brick wall and his team gets the bounces like it happens often in NHL16.

The defending Champs won't win because they have home ice advantage (last lineup change). That home ice advantage will be hard to exploit because they will be matched against 3 dangerous forwards no matter what. The Tampa Bay Lightning will win in 7 games because of their playoffs experience. The young Panthers unfortunately doesnt have that luxury.

I mean headshot and breezy are overlooked because of how unpopular they are in the league. They would be a 1st line pairing in most teams anyway
