Game is fine

 

Games is better then 16. Goalie moving around the crease is slower. You were actually able to realistically play the breakaways in the beta. But now it's either sit in the middle or guess a side with the slower movements.

 

the game is 'fine' to me as well, but aren't you tired of it being terrible - fine every year? shouldn't we expect more for $60? it took 3 years on next gen to come out with a game that is 'fine'. i guess that's my biggest issue with the game and the direction of the franchise in general.

 

Game is pretty legit when You have 9 ping. Feels that much slower when You have 30

 

1000000 times 0 is still 0...

 

I disagreed with almost everything you said, especially deking&defense being bad. Defense is dominant.
- I'm finally getting the puck steals I deserve when reading passing/breakout plays. Forcing it is dangerous.
- My pokes are finally pushing the puck backwards, not forwards, or sideways to the attackers teammate.
- My stick lifts are crisper, and get rewarded with less penalties on the right angle (partially due to vision control)
- My hits are better, and stun the guy longer.
- My goalies feel more comfortable on wraps, so I can protect the cut across instead.
- I'm a fucking threat, NHL17, #JEEEEEEBSSZN

 

You guys are silly. The trial felt exactly the same as the beta to me.

The G felt great. You don't turn into funnel on weak shots with no traffic with inappropriate animations. You have a fighting chance on the short side now. The hug post is still difficult to use but maybe I just need to get used to the movement.

I think the defense has been given a greater chance to break up cross crease passes if in the proper position.

Sorry, I don't have witty critical comparisons to throw out but this is a solid improvement to the series.

I think 16 was solid. Just at a high enough level, it was a boring game to play. I think 17 will be like that too but I do think the weak areas of 16 were improved upon a bit.

Some complaints of the game I see are stupid. The right stick dekes are here to stay so you can't whip the RS around anymore like a yo-yo. Going back to watch the older games, it looks real stupid but it was fun. Everything else feels pretty okay. Puck pickups can be weird occasionally and the physics of the game encourage rugby scrums over the other teams blueline from time to time. That simple gameplay style in all zones is still fairly effective I think but I like the changes to the game.

If they could somehow make watching 6v6 not look awful and weird, we could have a good year.

Goalie is the most glaring issue to me, way to many fluke goals, I had one game where it deflected off 3 sticks then into the net, looked like pinball. Goalie needs the most tweaks
