Every man, woman, and organism dreams of accomplishing certain milestones they make for themselves throughout their career. Whether you're a doctor, an athlete, a teacher or an actor, everyone has a set of goals they want to achieve. As I entered my rookie season in the LGHL, being drafted by Tampa, my immediate goal was to become a contributing member of a Stanley Cup winning roster. Those dreams were shattered when after a 9-0 start, 3-0 personally, I was traded to the Calgary Flames. But not to worry, Calgary presented me with a whole new challenge. I wanted to help turn a struggling team into a playoff contender. My first two weeks in Calgary looks promising, but eventually, things took a turn for the worse. As I realized the dreams of a playoff run were getting more slim, I set out on the quest to achieve a new goal. I wanted the LG community to realize the player I really am. I wanted the LG community to understand what exactly I could bring to the table. Show Tampa why they shouldn't have traded away the 16th pick in the draft for a Top 5 pick. Prove the doubters wrong who believed my personally-made highlight tape wasn't legit. So last week, with games against the Sharks, Coyotes, and Ducks, I set my mind straight and got ready to go. Over that week, I compiled, what I think, is my most astounding week yet. I went 0-3 in those games, with 0 points and a -19 rating. Before the weekend came, I saw that I had been traded to the Washington Capitals. Going from the 2nd worst team in the standings to the worst team in the standings proved, to me, that teams have confidence I can turn their franchise around. While that confidence is far fetched in many eyes, I believe it is plausible. Then I saw. I saw that the confidence some teams had in me had been confirmed. It was no longer a question of "can he turn this team around?", "but when will he turn this team around?" I finished eating a delicious lunch to see my weekly report card. I took a gander at the beautiful F+ rating and found myself ranked 488 out of 488 players in the LGHL. In closing, it's pretty cool to say you were able to achieve something not many players have been able to achieve. Being a first round pick is nice, being traded 2 times is nice, but being the worst player on LG, literally ranked, is a milestone accomplished in my book. I want to thank the Tampa Bay organization and @Chaskin12, the Calgary organization and @Perkosaurus13 and my new home, Washington and @NUKE Freeman. I worked for this. I worked very hard for this. So for those of you who say you can't accomplish what you want, whether in real life, or this league, know you are wrong. If you work, and dedicate yourself to your goals, they can be reached. Sincerely, "Mr. 488" Goosechuk
I had nothing positive happen to me this week. Judging by the "Who's Not" list on the power rankings, I was far and away the worst. Guess everyone else had a decent enough week.
