GM of the Year.

Just would like take a second and recognize @SKILLEDPYTHON and the hard work he has done for the Charolette Checkers.

You can tell by the way he talks to players and other GM's around the league that this is good guy to have on your side. Most people would have quit by week 3 (Checkers were 8-19-0). But no, Skilled and his AGM @lBl2llNlK turned this team around and made them a top contender in this league. The Charolette Checkers are now 47-29-2. Wow! So I'm recommending that Skilled should win GM of the year hands down.

That'd be team of the year. I just wanted to recognize Skilledpython and feel that he did a great job with our team. I honestly feel that Skilled did a great job it's not easy to turn your team around. I mean sure some teams are able to salvage some of their season and maybe come back and get a winning record. But Skilled did something far beyond that. The Checkers are now one of the top teams in the league. And that's not easy.

 

@jmm420 his team was sick all year he was the one who did his bidding and he himself is amazing player. JMM learned all his cool secrets from his binghamton senators tenure.

 

I agree Skilled has done a tremendous job retooling the checkers to make them a top contender. But like baris said JMM made a solid team from the beginning to end of regular season pretty much, same with WD and the gulls. There are many instances where a GM could be deemed "best GM" for the season. You can argue either way as well and also argue for other GMs etf

 

Both Gulls and Crunch had a successful season last year. Checkers didn't get good until Skilled was in the picture. But I do agree with you to some extent.

 

Nevermind I guess what I'm trying to say is..... he should have been presented GM of the year after he bid on me. Lol.

 

It is hard deciding who should get GM of the year because so many good GM's this season accomplishing many different things to earn the award. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion though and will express their feelings on who should be GM of the year. You are absolutely right, @SKILLEDPYTHON did do a fantastic job this season on not giving up on his team and making big trades to take his team from the bottom of the standings straight to the top where they currently sit in a playoffs spot.

 

Okay how many returning players for the gulls and crunch? Hardly any that I can see. So the success last season seems a bit unrelated.

 

Ok Taits ya got me. Again, just trying to highlight Skilled's success and show a little appreciation is all. Now....... let's get back to focusing on what really matters. The Cup.

In Charlotte from day 1 there has been no NHL interference. From selecting AGM, to bidding, to building the team and daily operations, this has been Managements responsibility. Teams across the league deal with adversity at some point during a season.

Awards are a nice gesture for recognition,
However, we focus on overall team success, not a personal award.

 

This 10000000% until the ahl locks to A and V you aren't gonna see any dynasties built in the ahl. In Xbox people have multi year deals and resigns aren't just for players to be signed and sent to the NHL. Hopefully next year there are enough sign ups.

Not really comfortable commenting in a thread about myself but lets be clear here...

Not only did I do all the bidding for Charlotte i did so with one hand tied behind my back with only 15m not 25m cap to bid with due to carry over forwards from S2 which not only limited cap, this also limited available forward positions to 3 forwards i could bid on.

Also not one of those existing roster players from S2 are on the team today. I had a massive mess to clean up in Charlotte.

As for my playing is concerned, posting a 53 point season with a +30 isn't too shabby.

 

I like how the checkers were able to turn it around this season and I'm glad to be going head to head with them in the Calder Cup final. That being said, the IceCaps have had a similar season, with our share of ups and downs. I agree with sfic. Because both these teams have similar stories I think the tilt will be which GM brings the Calder home. Great job with your season and I look forward to battling it out on the ice. But I think it's a coin toss between @x4HxPESTILENCEx and @SKILLEDPYTHON

@JLott0910 is a great GM we started the season off very rocky and every week when trades came our team was a little bit better. His vision and ability to remove pieces that brought the team down while adding depth and players that directly and positively impacted our team. For the reasons outlined above I feel that Jlott is hands down the GM of the year.

 

People should remember this is a regular season award. @jmm420 team got fucked on in the playoffs 100% (shoulda line matched!) But during regular season his team was consistently dominant.

 

@WateryDolphin77 should win GM of the Year!
