Of having snipes public DURING bidding. Pros: - Managers who excessively snipe can get called out in the cb during bidding. May discourage excessive snipe bids. Cons: - It allows other managers to gain information on cap space of teams who have a "snipe" bid. - Managers can collude against individual teams much easier during bidding by knowing who has the bid. - Players may quit during the bidding process which can effect the bidding plans of several teams Counterpoints: - It essentially leads to an hour of wasted time at the end of bids. Why not just shorten bid times then? - What does revealing bids during bidding actually gain over the idea of releasing bid information after bidding? - Will this make potential new Owners avoid joining up? Will this make them avoid making reasonable bids in certain situations and allow "Known" owners to get "steals"? In my opinion the best option would be to keep the bids private during the process. After the process is complete you then release all the bids made on each player. Managers can then see which other managers were assholes and can handle their grudges during the season. Trust me, if someone snipes enough they will have a hard time making trades when he's shafted everyone.
Knowing who has a bid and at what price is way too much of an advantage to other teams to even consider this.
