Western Pacific Rankings

Season 8 has begun and I will write a little about each of the Western Pacific Teams. Rankings are based off how I think each team will finish and I will also rank OFF DEF and G on a scale of A-F (A being the best). I will project lines (probably wrong alot ) and game 7 line as well.

Introducing a Surprise Motherfucker Section for each team(which is someone who could have a breakout season and vast improvement over the previous).



This is my first big write up so do not dick me to hard... a mild dicking is suffice though.

Projected Divisional Rankings:

1. Vegas Golden Knights 95 - 105 points
2. San Jose Sharks 93 - 103 points
3. Anaheim Ducks 91 - 101 points
4. Arizona Coyotes 87 - 97 points
5. Calgary Flames 83 - 93 points
6. Edmonton Oilers 81 - 91 points
7. Los Angeles Kings (Although could move up depending on roster fill) 74- 84 points
8. Vancouver Canucks 65-75 points

Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks have a lot of familiar faces which leads me to believe they will be where they usually are. This means a fighting for a playoff spot, but if they can create chemistry as the new faces know each other they may move up a few spots for sure. I feel like their forward group is missing top end talent but has three 2nd lines worth of talent for the most part. Minny had that Season 5 and it worked fairly well for them. The difference is that their defense looks pedestrian but most of them have experience and know how to play the game. Goaltending is meh, as I think they downgraded from Prox last season, but have a better 1-2 punch. @Carmstrong95 and @xXAucoin1Xx are sticking with the buddy system which includes @Ksteiding1 @Sublime-3 @OGPotsie @kg3inOTT and @Niedermayer87 who all have multiple seasons playing together.

Surprise Motherfucker: @Claeys feel like he was not given much of a chance to succeed last season and could surprise given his situation this season. Expect 55 points and possibly wins.

Arizona Coyotes

@Moranaconda started off by grabbing @JF5 x as his GM and had a good bidding for arguably the first time since S3. I feel this team can do some damage in a division that does not look to have a clear cut top team (Not saying any of the teams are trash I just do not see one team with a clear cut advantage). This is a well rounded team and if they can be consistent I can see them in the loffs. They also have a solid goalie tandem and should be fine in net. This team should definitely be better than the last few seasons. @ZVM93 should be a great pick up for his price tag and possibly pass his career high of 57 points. (I feel sorry for whoever @vhigh 's defense partner is, cause shit gets "real" .

Surprise Motherfucker: @Fulltrottle911 Trottle is a solid Dman and could not click a button in time last season resulting in a AHL stint, where he did what was expected and got wins. He will break 30 points as a D-man this season for the first time.

Calgary Flames

The flames are under new ownership which has @Polska_B0SS_780 and @MPelley25 , and their bidding looks to have a few holes. This team has some pieces and with a few trades I think they can improve their roster and maybe surprise like last season again. They are lacking on overall defense and will expect their forwards to put the puck where grandma hides the cookies! Just like Anaheim they are missing a true game 7 line up but have a couple solid lines. Hopefully @Cage can put up first line center numbers as he is being borderline payed like one. They also have no awful contracts which is a bonus. Goal-tending looks to be alright as @iCallsoWhat55 is solid and @iCb4uC put up decent AHL numbers last season. I have a strong sense that Kushdemon will be traded to improve depth on D, and also cause there just cannot be two Kusherinos on the same team right?

Surprise Motherfucker: @deadlykush204 Playing for Washington last season could make anyone look bad (I was there I know, plus I am bad) but Deadlykush still had a winning season on the dumpster fire of a team. I expect a 50-60 point bounce back season from the 39 Points last season.

Edmonton Oilers

@GonzoArmstrong picked up @i9-Stamkos-1i as gm which is fine and looks to have built a team that will be on the bubble of making the loffs. @XIXEighty7 had his best best LG season since S1 and managed to not get slapped with a ridiculous contract which was nice to see, so good job Edmonton. I really like Edmontons centers with @i9-Stamkos-1i @jared2112 and @WartorianT and their RW's look alright as well. I think their weakness is their LW's and an average D core, that are missing high end talent, but if they play smart should manage with the play of their center depth. Goal-tending is fine as well not top end but they know what they are doing. @matthuot87 also looks to flash his Stanley Cup ring around so beware!

Surprise Motherfucker: @stammerchel is coming off a good run last season and has the possible potential to shut down opposing lines as he did Nashville last playoffs and also did well against COL 2 of the 3 games he played. Look for him to possible rack a +20 and 18 wins this season.


Los Angeles Kings

The Los Angeles Kings are under new ownership with @Goostaav and @j_marz25 which is let just say an obvious upgrade over the last dictatorship. I like what this groups top two lines look like and feel they should be able to hang on with most lines within this division no matter the line they get. @RBCressor or Cressgoat is a good dman but lets see if he can earn the big dollars he was given. @FndigBigfootBobo has had 2 solid seasons and proved he can be a great 3rd pair D or maybe 2nd pair. (Edit) @TurmoiIz was forgotten about my bad and with the other call ups this team looks to be better for sure, now that the roster is filled out.

Surprise Motherfucker: @MrFrankPompei frank has the potential to be a solid 2nd line winger and I think this season he may put up 60-65 points and reach the 15 win plateau for the first time in his 3rd season in the NHL. If his line can get wins this team makes the playoffs.

San Jose Sharks

This will be @radicalapex 's 8th season with the sharks and its safe to say after a rough few seasons early in his career hes gotten better and adding the Purse Holding man himself @RyOfTheBeholder should help make a solid D core of Blue Collar guys (besides @Lazy Pedestrian .. white collar mofo). They have two really good forward lines and an alright third line. The defense will need to play smart as they should have goals to work with so it will be their game to lose. @dankatsva13 is a solid goalie and @NewoKcid will be a good backup to him.

Surprise Motherfucker: @Wallywallabee there is no way he puts up only 41 points again and I think he will have his best offensive season (besides S1) and stack up 70 points and reach 20 wins. His line will create offense and there is just no way he only puts up 40 or so points. Also his contract is solid at 3.5 as he could be worth 4-5 Million.

Vancouver Canucks

@King_Rinpin entering his first stint in the NHL ownership grabbed a GM who has knowledge of the league in @CoUnTeR-AtTaCk43 but nothing really happened in bidding for them. They got @Fool x 90 who is beautiful Frenchy and looks good for that 7.5M contract, which I think is great value especially how much some centers went for. They will be relying on draft picks who did quite well in the CHL like @Nick Saville @Travi3yTML and possibly @MetroBoominq @iiGOTskillz . This could end up being a disaster or put them in a great situation for the next season as well as this one. Their defense could maybe use a trade to help solidify it but give it a few weeks to see how it pans out before hitting the panic button. Goaltending looks to be good as they have proven starty @xUnknown_31 but an unproven backup.

Surprise Motherfucker: @Travi3yTML is coming off a big win with the Steelheads in the CHL Memorial Cup. He went 7-0 in the loffs which tells me he may have the prowess to play them biggies! Expect him to have a good season +15 and 20 points as he should be a solid defensive minded dman.


Vegas Golden Knights

Vegas will have a deadly top line or game 7 lineup but I think they might split games to try and get more wins during the regular season if things go rough outta the gate. @jay6219 is a good guy and player and has built a solid team up front including GM @Xx LoL xX 9. Outside of their top 3 forwards they fall off a bit having @DynoMikeV2 and @TrapHouseLegend- and then talent falls off again. Defense looks alright nothing crazy but each line fits into their role I believe ie. first pair 2nd pair 3rd pair. @Ransom613 also got 4M so he will have to perform and not suck like some debarrd guy last season at 5M. @bNYCe83 and @crofto40 will be a good goalie duo and maybe tops in this division along with the Coyotes duo.

Surprise Motherfucker: @cmike17 This guy ran the Iowa wilds defense and filled in for Minnesota admirably last season and I expect him to be worth the 2.75M contract easily. I project him to have +25 along with 25 points and 100+ Takeaways ending the season.

I mean I think there is no clear cut winner in this division almost anyone could win it in my opinion. I like your C depth like I said which is arguably the most important but I feel like Left side on offense and d is slightly underwhelming at this point. I could be wrong obviously that is why I called it Projected Ratings not Actual Ranking or Ratings. But I could see you guys possibly hitting 100 again.
