S31 Power Rankings Week 1

Seeing as this is my first time doing media for the site I figured I might as well introduce myself, I’m JC Enterprise current AGM of Binghamton, and have been around the league since S26. This power ranking will be kept short and to the point not any of this headassery that others do (cough Silveri cough). All 31 teams ranked. Write ups on the top 8, the rest are just ranked (sorry)


#1 Colorado Eagles 8-1 4th GF Tied 6th GA

This team has a bunch of good guys, RKC, Hilly, Sergachev, Game 7. Which will lead to a good first line however the depth I do not know. Hilly comes at a bit of an overprice at 6.25 million but after a S30 management run with Hartford, he’s worth the added knowledge and support. Clutchy has taken over the team along with Nylander after a long stint in the CHL, which means they know a bunch of various players from the C who are good as made evident in their pickups of Cippy Cup and Yggdrasill who’s spent the last 2 season in the CHL. I would expect Colorado to keep the same lines together, however they may make TC trades to improve their depth for ECU’s


#2 Binghamton Devils 8-1 Tied 5th GF Tied 2nd GA

I know I know y’all are saying “you’re just supporting your own team” however after a very good first week we deserve it. Anyways, Risto Stastny make up the management team and with the acquisitions of Zarvek (#2), Rapidz Phenomz (#8), and Risktaker (#25) this team is dangerous. The first line has to be one of the best in the league, and the depth is high quality. The only trades I see us making are TC trades to improve the depth for ECU’s and a playoff run.


#3 San Jose Barracuda 8-1 Tied 5th GF 2nd GA

How bout these Cuda, lead by jdj and spacelessbark (who have reunited for another management run) these guys are trying to turn the corner and become a relevant playoff team after some questionable years. Now looking at the players, Marr750 is a stud who went 500k in bidding, Reggie Howser and Mayertopkat a pre-season trade really helped set up the team, however Mayer is overpriced at 4 million. Which could lead to a trade there. Also, Juney has been talking in forums and chatbox which could lead to first lines being brought out against them to try to take them down. See for them to make a bunch of trades to improve the team.


#4 Iowa Wild 6-2-1 Tied 10th GF Tied 10th GA

Other teams may be more deserving of this spot however give credit to Mackie, he always creates good teams and after running into a deadend in the Eastern Conference trying to win the cup, he has flipped (due to team switch) to the West where he will hope to finally punch his ticket to the Cup. His management team of Anger and Squid are very respectable, but no one else in the lineup really jumps out at me as an amazing player and you dont see the normal names associated with mackie as before. Which could be good to inject new blood in his quest for the cup. Overall this team needs to upgrade in every area, so I expect a bunch of big moves from them this weekend.


#5 Charlotte 6-1-2 1st GF T14th GA

Wickedly Moist is entering in as GM after taking over Belleville S30, on Charlotte he has inherited the 50 thousand draft picks that yeti acquired and used to build up his teams. This team has dual goaltenders which is good if both of them are starters, worse if theyre both backups. Belt at defense is a stus 1st liner who pairing with Legion will provide a nasty 1st line in a tough conference, PigsonJupiter is a great asset to have as he lit up the CHL. Overall this team is loaded in their top 6 and is definitely going to compete for a bid in the conference championship along with..


#6 Hartford Wolf Pack 6-2-1 T4 GF T12th

Mexican Ninja as GM is literally the best contract in the entire league. This guy should be in the NHL however he and Dip City Don team up to be one of the best managements in the league. Luke as paid agm is also a very good option as he and Ninja paired up last season to make a very good Toronto team. (Still salty). They have also acquired Samuel Hinkie who is a stud to man the second line, who along with Zaathal and Puggerino will make for one of the best 2nd lines in the league. One area of concern for me is they just had to trade back Karma to Texas which means Ninja’s first line LW is gone. This team could be an upgrade in 3rd line forwards/D.


#7 Syracuse Crunch 7-2 10th GF T6th GA

This team is filled with good contacts and players, Ozzy9041, N1ghthors3, Bolts, Wxllsy. They are all very good players and will be crucial to the success of the team. I wont lie if I did a pre-season power rankings this team would be middle of the pack However this first week has really impressed me. The management seem to know what they are doing and I hope them some success. JKGrizzle at LD was a bit of an over priced at 4 mil but he is a good recruiter and solid 2nd line option. This team can make moves to improve their 2nd line, however that would come at the cost of their skilled cheap contracts, so I see them staying put this week .


#8 Belleville Senators

This team should be ranked higher but alas here we are, Belleville has one of the top management teams in NiteOwl Bell and Schwifty. NiteOwl is the 2 time defending Calder Cup champion and could have made a move up to the biggies however he wants the 3peat. His team is full of high chemistry and skilled guys, Letang (a send down) stands out, along with CoreyMac, DP Canarozzo, Mutedd, and Hero. Thse guys are easily in the competition as a top 5 teams and with a couple moves will be right up there with the top 3 teams.

D core the rest I think you have 4-5 guys you played with before off just eye test. But if i remember properly your teams were big carry over teams which had 6-7 guys you played with consistently

 

Good write up. Maybe by conference is another way to do it since we all play our division most.

 

Agreed but I figured a bunch of others would want to do that as well, so I figured I’d do league rankings to stack up the teams across conference.
