Vezina Race (Mid-Season)

The Vezina Trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League's (NHL) goaltender who is "adjudged to be the best at this position".

- Statistic ranking is solely based on the 10 goalies listed in this thread. They exclude all other 51 goalies in the LGHL.



o S m i i t t y

Without a doubt, Smitty is the front-runner for the Vezina as of now. He is playing for a top 5 team and putting up top 2 numbers (and he's not number 2). He's let up only 37 goals in 28 games, not even a plexiglass goalie cutout could put up those numbers. He's rocking 8 shutouts, 7 of them coming against non-playoff teams. If Smitty could improve on anything it would be his performance against playoff teams. Philadelphia might see a few teams from Smitty's 13-1-0 non-playoff record in the post-season, but not many. If they want to make it past the conference finals Smitty will need to pump his numbers up versus playoff teams. Other than that Smitty is insane in between the pipes, wow.





LEG3NDzR41Nz

LEG3NDzR41Nz is the #1 ranked goalie in overall win percentage & playoff win percentage. He is 8-0-2 verses playoff teams posting an 88.9 save%. I don’t know how he's only sporting an 82.9 save% against playoff teams. The only answer is he is accustomed to good players that he can't take the shitters. R41Nz has contributed a huge portion to his teams #1 seed in the league. If he can crack down on the shitters he won't lose another game in regulation the rest of the season.





EgoKiller43

Egokiller43 has had, by far, the best start out of any goalie anyone has seen the past 5 generations of chel. Before his last 2 games of week 5 he was rocking an 88.2 save % which is absolutely unheard of. The numbers Ego is putting against top team are all-star worthy. If Ego and his team would take the non-playoff teams more seriously, his power ranking will grow exponentially. It's a shame, because if he were on Philadelphia he would be putting up Smitty statistics. Ego will find his way back to the top of the leaderboards in no time.





Zer0Tension

Zer0 Tension came into the NHL last season with most players knowing who he was. This season he keeps growing his net worth by putting up a 86.3 sv% & 1.60 GAA. Playing with veteran @Jer Dubz, Zer0 is ranking in at #2 in overall win percentage. Zer0 is having tremendous success and showing absolutely no chatter in the community, much respect. It's a fact Boston make playoffs, and Zer0 will guide them to the mothership.





l Wall x 31 l

Wall has been spectacular this season. He standing between the pipes for a legendary roster and putting up legendary numbers. Wall is just one of the few goalies who has been giving his all during games against the top teams. With nearly an 85.2 save% & 2.06 GAA you can say Wall has been stealing some wins for the Anaheim boys. If he can put up some of his week 4 numbers in the upcoming weeks, Anaheim will come close to securing that Presidents trophy.





Charyzen

Charyzen is a goalie that many people are surprised to see in contention for the Vezina. It is his 1st season playing goalie in the NHL and he's absolutely killing it with the bloodhounds on Montreal. He's currently tied for most wins with Smitty, and is the starter over @MNWebby which is a freak of an accomplishment. Charyzen has better odds than most to win the Cup this year. Hope to only see improvement from the top spot he's already in.





F R i K S x 9 9

Friks has consistently been a top goalie this entire season. Putting up top consistent numbers in all wins and losses, Friks will be down for the count come playoffs. If there was an award for most consistent goalie, Friks would take the cake. If he can improve on his numbers you'll see San Jose out of the wild card spot into a higher seed.





BizyBounce

Bounce is the chosen one. He has impressed the living hell out of this league these past 5 weeks. Not only is he holding an 85.6 save%, he's had 464 shots on him alone. Not many goalies will see 464 shots in a season, but for Biz a single digit shot game is a novelty. If the Rangers can reduce their defensensive zone time they will save Bounce from a much anticipated heart attack. I can only assume at least 5 of his GA were pokes off of @Lingross. All jokes aside, NYR is lucky to have a brick wall like Bounce guarding their twine.





APsychicTaco

Taco isn't having the season he'd like to, but there isn’t a better goalie on a non-playoff team ahead Taco. He's literally grinding out individual points for his teams. If Toronto could've buried OT goals, Taco would be a top the leaderboards. He hasn't had nearly as many shots as @BizyBounce but he's doing more than his part.
