I think the scrub hunting thing came into play

 

Like to thank the organization and teammates for an unbelievable job they have done, thank you all

 

My comment was not referencing usual top players as much as the probable strength (weakness) of schedule and inflated statistics as a result. If two A lines battle it out 2-3 times a week, then they are more at risk of having less success in points and wins. I get what you’re trying to say, but I’ve rarely had that type of mentality in my CHEL time.


I would just honestly find it interesting to see the results of a top line of reserves vs a bottom line of all-stars.

I agree though but without a perfect strength of schedule measurement and no real control over who you play as a player or what line another team gives you its hard to crucify someone on that unless it comes down to actual awards compared to all star seasons as a difference maker in a vote

 

A lot, if not most, of these guys are mgmt and absolutely have control over who they play

 

You don’t have control over who the other line throws out and it still depends on your other lines availabilty as well.


Is a scheduling yourself again a playoff team more valuable than against a div opponent? Is playing a playoff teams 3rd more valuable than a non playoff teams 1st or 2nd? Is playing again a team you’re in a playoff race against more valuable than playing the 1st place team?

It’s tough to judge or punish anyone off of these things but we have and always will look at them but for all stars/lines of the year we weigh points for your team (W/OTL) and stats more than who you play but not for awards as you know

@SweeT 9 LoU 84 i am talking about the managers that blatantly throw out near game 7 lines against bottom feeders like New Jersey then rack up 10 pts against those teams. That benefits absolutely no one except themselves

 

Gives their team 2 points in the standings but I agree. If that's how they choose to manage to get the team points that's their decision. Worked for MTL this yr and ANA threw their RatedR line against bad teams a lot and were you their for the presidents. Teams sac line in playoffs all the time, it's just a strategy. Yeah it isn't impressive to me and others which is why the weaker schedules hurt guys in the awards and bc you guys wanted it looked at more when we asked.

Outlier games are usually thrown out the window by most people looking at it, even Tris puts a cap on daily and weekly awards with the 4G and 4A max a game. I don't necessarily agree with that but it is excessive against bad teams. There's also games like last yr where a good line with Frank and them on it throw a game to someone and it's 16-0 it's a joke and bad for the league but like I said we throw those out the window to an extent or I do at least. As for the all stars or team or the year selection if you guys want that changed we can do that as well. We're very open as we have always been which is why these things are constantly changing

There is also the other half of the glass of were in the LG NHL and the The "bad teams" should rise to the occasion and beat them, upsets are huge. If not they can learn and get better from it. There's been many upsets this season, full ECU lines winning games, FLA knocking TOR out of the playoffs and DAL losing to a full ECU line of STL.

 

You use Anaheim as an example of it working but you are completely wrong. If they actually played the rated r line vs the lines that their third line played, they would have won the presidents. They weren’t in the race for it because of this strategy, they were in it in spite of the strategy... @SweeT 9 LoU 84

 

Worked for Montreal Are you saying my line Played bottom feeder All season ? We played 18 or 19 Game out of the 28 Against Playoff team and The non playoff team Was like 3 Time Pitt 2 Time Chicago So cant really say that about us...

I don't choose who I play. I show up, hum, and get off the game. If I could play with/against top lines every time I played, I'd probably enjoy LG a lot more.

 

Somehow, someway someone is always butthurt by being snubbed of a virtual nominee.
