With a lot of people covering the draft with great media posts it's time to look at the managers that will be choosing from this new batch of CHL talent. These rankings will be a brief review of each team with ratings based on: - Manager ability - Managerial success - Talent they provide on the ice - Success as a player Here is the scale to follow for this article: A+, Best in the NHL A, Best in division A-, B+, Above Average B, League Average B-, League Average (Lower tier) C+, Below Average C, D, Poor Spoiler: Pacific Division ANAHEIM DUCKS Owner - CaLL Me Jakoo GM - Odie The Anaheim management stays the same as last season and still is one of the best duos in the league. Both have had success as players/managers and as a team made the cup finals last season. You can expect them to build another contender this time around. Grade: A ARIZONA COYOTES Owner - Gilbzey GM - Dev l4l Some people say Gilbzey was the brains behind the great success that was the Coyotes last season. While he may not be a elite forward in the league he has the ability to use his managerial skills to create elite teams. Dev brings the talent portion of the management duo, putting Arizona ahead of the rest. They have the potential to build a great team this season. Grade: B+ CALGARY FLAMES Owner - Redmile89 GM - Oo TheMvp oO A pair of ESHL teammates have stepped in to take over Calgary in a rather tough Pacific Division. Having chemistry between the two managers can be a big benefit especially when it comes to offseason planning and execution. Both are long time veterans of the league but also a knowledge about the newer generation of LG players. While their on ice skills are there, we will have to see if they pan out as a management pairing. Grade: B EDMONTON OILERS Owner - OrockOnYoutube GM - Maxwell x 3 ORock had a rough stint as the GM of Winnipeg last season and he's hoping that a team of his own will help him trend towards success. Maxwell has never been a manager and has limited NHL experience compared to his peers. There is a lot of doubt with this team and they have to show the players that they can create a competitive team before those opinions change. Grade: C LOS ANGELES KINGS Owner - Shockz GM - Danny Briere Shockz has a history of managerial success and the ability to put up elite numbers as a player. You can expect him to pick a few of his friends with high chemistry (as most do) at good value. Danny is an elite defenseman in the league and is a shift from the two forward management lineup Los Angeles ran last season. It can be extremely difficult to find elite defense on the cheap, and at the low price of $0 you can't go wrong with GMs that play defense. Grade: A- SAN JOSE SHARKS Owner - Villian GM - SamDelisle You might as well add Sweet Lou as a pseudo GM as well, but focusing on the two actual managers you have a duo that form two thirds of a top line on any team in the league. Both also have plenty of management experience and are respected members of the league. There's a reason "Trade me to Lou or I retire" is a thing. Grade: A- VANCOUVER CANUCKS Owner - LAZYKIDZinGA GM - SenSei Dropshot A below average AHL player and a GM who has more CHL wins than AHL wins. Tough scenes. Here's to hoping that CHL success translates to the NHL better than the AHL or this team is DOA. Grade: D VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS Owner - Gerbe x 42 GM - Martin ScorezEZ Both Gerbe and Martin have had moderate success as players in the LGHL and don't carry any negative reputation about themselves. Kudos for them taking a big step like this and filling a much needed role in the league, if they can translate their skills on the sticks to their choices in bidding you could have a decent team on your hands. But as first time managers it could be challenging. Grade: C+ Spoiler: Central Division CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS Owner - Jemima GM - Sitful Like the duo in Calgary, these two have been together to win several ESHL championships and compete at the top level of the ESHL for many seasons. But when it comes to management experience they both are rather new to the game. They could create a real monster in the Central if things work out as planned. Grade: A COLORADO AVALANCHE Owner - Ninety Eight GM - Itz x Luigi x 98 has consistently been one of the better owners in the league the past few seasons. Last season was his first division championship while also having a Jack Adams to his name in Season 30. Luigi joined the management duo to help in building that Season 31 champion and you can expect with both remaining to be competing for that spot again this winter. Grade: A- DALLAS STARS Owner - Schlemko x 17 GM - Terry x 77 It appears Schlemko has dipped into his wallet to pick up another talented GM after his free-GM attempt failed last season. Terry will provide the much needed top pair defenseman but the question will be if they can put together more to elevate their team to a division championship. Grade: B MINNESOTA WILD Owner - Wags82 GM - IcexCreamxTruck Wags may not build a contender for a championship but you can expect his teams to be competing for a playoff spot no matter how the offseason plays out. He and his GM will make mostly good moves and ultimately put themselves into that race each season. Non-toxic environment and a respected owner makes this a more favorable destination compared to some others. Grade: B- NASHVILLE PREDATORS Owner - Arctic Blur GM - Yahter Arctic Blur was part of 98's success in Season 30 as his GM and has decided it is finally time for his own go at ownership. As a partner he chose a long time veteran in LG in Yahter who has been a part of Jakoo's Ducks for several seasons. Both players will hopefully take the lessons learned with their other successful teams and form the Preds into a playoff contender. Grade: B SAINT LOUIS BLUES Owner - Lehkonen x 62 GM - JJr Slim has went his separate ways from his Arizona teammates and has inherited a team with several of the top draft picks this season. He should be able to take the opportunity and make both a great NHL and AHL. JJr stepped down to a GM role after a rather disappointing season as an owner. He's definitely picked a better partner to run with this time around and hopefully it will lead to some stability. Grade: B- WINNIPEG JETS Owner - JuniorHawk16 GM - DonnyBrah JuniorHawk has had two seasons of ownership that have both gone awry. DonnyBrah has the enthusiasm to be a great manager but the experience isn't there yet. With an owner that isn't looked upon too favorably and a new GM Winnipeg could be in for a rough season. All depends on the people they bring on board. Grade: C
