Time to break down the top 10 goalies in the league, along with a complete list of rankings. If you need a refresher around how this work, I encourage you to review a previous week by clicking here. # 10 – Tatar l21l | Iowa Wild | Last Week Ranking: #14 @Tatar |21| makes his first entry into the top 10. On the year, he’s posted 18 wins in his 24 games played, has a 85% save percentage and a goals against average is 1.78. Even though the Wild went 3-2-1 in games Tatar played last week, he managed to keep them in each game with an 87% save percentage and 1.65 GAA, however he only received average goal support of 1.6 in week 5. # 9 – BlaNchet98 | Ontario Reign | Last Week Ranking: #7 @BlaNchet98 drops two spots this week to #7. Statistically, his worst week of the season, but you must apply context. He had 4 solid games, with a disastrous game against Milwaukee sandwiched in, giving up 9 goals in that game with 3 coming via the penalty kill. If you look past a single game, he has been very consistent and has a great chance to remain in the top 10 throughout the remainder of the season. # 8 – FriskyBeaver | Colorado Eagles | Last Week Ranking: #12 @FriskyBeaver makes his way into the top 10 for the first time this season. He played in 3 games last week going 2-0-1, with a 92% SV Pct. Has played very consistently through the first 5 weeks of the season and is helping Colorado march toward a western pacific showdown with Stockton. # 7 – PHJ314 | Rochester Americans | Last Week Ranking: #5 @PHJ314 drops down to number 7 this week, Rochester had a challenging week, particularly in games PHJ314 was in net, going 2-3-1. In week 5, he posted an 85% save pct., and a 2.28 GAA, with a shutout of Bridgeport. Goal scoring was Rochester’s opportunity in week 5. # 6 – MattakaTiny2 | Bridgeport Sound Tigers | Last Week Ranking: #6 After moving up 7 spots last week to number 6, @MattakaTiny2 remains at the #6 spot for back to back weeks. It appears, he may have been on IR last week as he did not play in week 5. # 5 – Name Is Ricky | Stockton Heat | Last Week Ranking: #9 Strong performer in week 5, @Name Is Ricky went 5-1 with 3 shutouts, 89.5% save pct, and a goal against average of just 1. I will highlight that he didn’t see a tremendous amount of shots per game in week, just shy of 10 shots per game on average, however what’s most important is, he stopped a lot of the ones he saw. # 4 – Binger | Grand Rapids Griffins | Last Week Ranking: #3 Dropping a single spot is @Binger. 3-1-1 last week, Binger was consistent as he has been, essentially all season, posting an 88% save percentage and less than 2 goals against on average in week 5. Ranks 3rd in the league in Save % at 88.17% on the season. # 3 – keatsauce | Syracuse Crunch | Last Week Ranking: #4 Also going 3-1-1 last week, @keatsauce continues keeping his goaltending at a high level, 88% save percentage on the week, GAA of 1.38, and an OT shutout of Utica to kick off week 5. Of note, keat ranks in the top 5 of both GAA and Save % across the league through the first 5 weeks of the season. # 2 – TheCheetahlo 33 | San Antonio Rampage | Last Week Ranking: #2 Remains at #2 for the second straight week, @TheCheetahlo 33 literally gave up no more than 2 goals in any game in week 5, had almost a 90% save percentage, a 1.33 GAA, and a shutout against Manitoba. His season stats are outstanding, ranks 1 or 2 in each category we look at! # 1 – Czap17| Belleville Senators | Last Week Ranking: #1 Now that I understand the name change, @Czap17 still remains at #1 this week. Why? He went 3-1 on the week, had a save percentage north of 90%, and a GAA of 1.25, along with a shutout of Rochester. Ranked 1 in ¾ of stats I look at.
I’m going to finish reading but I have to comment on that beautiful spreadsheet. That’s spreadsheet porn. Well done.
Where's the stat for goalies that are on struggling teams and have 85%+ while dealing with this all season long lol https://www.leaguegaming.com/forums/index.php?leaguegaming/media&action=display&mediaid=4193018
