Ok there is just way too much pizza heat in the chat box these days. We all need to turn down the dial and breathe. We all have our views on what toppings are best, Where to order from and the proper thickness of the crust. These debates although healthy can also be quite destructive if left unchecked. So as a connoisseur and a pizza pie protagonist I wanted to do something to help us all out. We all want to be heard but right now it's just noise in the box. As an online hockey community we need to be united in the view that all pizza has a place in our lives. Thick, thin, New York, Chicago or the always controversial pineapple debate. Please feel free to use this thread to post your favorite pie and where you get it from but please lets all be respectful of the views of others. Be as descriptive as possible in regards to topping,crust and cheese quantities as I will be using this to yank my crank later.

Pineapple is like the 2nd best fruit and pizza is a pie. Next thing you're gonna tell me if I shouldn't be putting chicken and vegetables in my pies!!

 

Windsor Pizza, Windsor Ontario. Pineapple IS ALLOWED on pizza, its not an everytime thing, just once in a while. And it cant be JUST pineapples u gotta have like pepperoni chicken and pineapple

All I ask for is to cut into triangles and put the toppings ON TOP of the cheese. Nothing is worse than that poor disgusting excuse for pizza, the Chicago "thin crust" pizza. #1 its not even thin. Its still thicker than any other pizza ive seen besides its disgusting excuse for a pizza brother, the chicago deep dish. #2 they put the toppings under the cheese. The cheese doesnt even get stuck to the dough, I mean it just slides right off. #3 Do not cut it into squares. Nothing more sad than a doughy overly thick middle piece with no crust where you just dig your fingers right in when you grab it and the cheese and toppings slide right off.

Refer to @Reiders90 post above as this is spot on with pizza. Hell I have had a bratwurst apple and onion pizza. It was good! Not an everytime thing and not my favorite.

If ANY franchise is your favorite pizza, then that's a worse offense than pineapple.

My go to is what is called an "American" at restaurant i go to. Sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, mushroom and onions. Gotta have some crisp on pepperoni. Flimsy over greasy pepperoni isn't worth my time.

I'm gonna toss my go to pie selection in here. I love a good thick crust pizza with meat on top of meat and cheese so gooey you could shoot a t.v. commercial using it. But those days are essentially done for me. Probably why I'm so in love with the idea of a Chicago deep dish. One day it will be mine! But my standard now is Chicken, Bacon, Green Pepper on as thick a crust I can get with BBQ sauce subbed in for the standard tomato sauce. As far as a pizza goes it's a hair less destructive to my internal organs than the standard "Say YES to meat" selection I used to choose. Having discovered the BBQ "sub in" a few years ago was a real game changer. It adds a real sweetness to your already salty/savory pizza.

As for the pineapple debate I quote the very wise Chief Wiggum of the Simpsons. "If it feels good, Do it!"



I for one don't select it first overall in the pizza draft of life but I have no issue grabbing a slice containing the frivolous fruit for future considerations or a 6th round flyer. MY GOD I'M HUNGRY NOW! Does anyone know how to dry saliva out of a keyboard?

 

Chicago Deep Dish is for people whos moms cut the crust off their sandwiches...

Pepperoni, green pepper, and onion is the best but that's none of my business.

 

New Haven, CT is the best City in the US for Pizza. Modern, Bar, Sallys, and Pepes.

 

I'm sure the pizza is good but you still have to live in CT though.

 

That is the only good part of living here.
