One major area that gets benefited from the 5G is the Gaming industry. Nobody wishes to download files days and days. 5G aims to deliver the best network speeds depending on the nature of the workload and user’s requirement. 5G is looking to provide a very low latency of 1ms meanwhile 4G offers nearly 50ms latency. Latency, or the amount of time taken for devices to communicate with one another, can be a problem on a wireless network, resulting in a time lag between the command input and its effect taking place. Alright so that mean that our current ping goes around 10 to 50 ping at normal state. So 5G will drop it at 0.5 so we can assume we gonna play game between 0.5 to 3 ping in a near future. This is same coefficient of difference than 10 to 50 wich is 5 time worst than best it can give you. So in other word latency will drop so much that playing east or west won't matter anymore. With the rapid increase of gaming resolution and bandwidth, as today’s 4K high-end games, the lower latency network connection is essential. High latency means higher response time. In gaming higher response time cause you to lose. As I mentioned earlier, 5G is designed to provide numerous connections per square meter. Extremely high availability and reliability provide a huge number of connections to be managed. One way this might be utilized is, to provide a consistent gaming experience in eSports events where a large number of people gather and connected to the same game This also mean not only ping won t affect as much but games in general will be able to have more people connected at same time so war games such as battlefield will probably be able to hold 100 vs 100 players in the same game session. This is just an example of what it really could might way more or less wich would surprise me if it's less than that. Download speed will also significiantly increase. Network Type Download Speeds 3G Network 384Kbps 4G Network 100Mbps 5G Network 1-10Gbps or higher This here basically tells us thatas an example a 60 GB game will take 1 minute to download on that network. Also this mean platform that offers games streaming services will get a huge help with this new network. Probably why Google as release a statement about theur upcoming cloud gaming console coming out soon. That's it for now matthuot out For more info https://hackernoon.com/gaming-with-5g-75efa6ac1c70 https://5g.co.uk/guides/how-fast-is-5g/
That all changed recently when a leaked PowerPoint deck and memo produced by a senior National Security Council official indicated that Trump advisors had at least fleetingly eyed a proposal to nationalize America’s looming 5G networks. The report notes the proposal was considered as part of a conversation about shoring up the nation’s cyber-defenses. "The best way to do this, the memo argues, is for the government to build a network itself," the report states. "It would then rent access to carriers like AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile." Rip Privacy
The current wireless standard offered by Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint— 4G LTE — is fast but not quite fast enough for an entire house of people to play games and stream 4K movies at the same time. It makes a poor replacement for wired broadband. The technology for 5G is fast enough for that, and you can forget the cords. It's just as reliable as the wired broadband internet you're used to, and it could save you a lot of headache When the real 5G out using ur phone hotspot for your PS4 will be better than your home wireless option. Why would we play on wifi 5 or 6 when the connection around you. Is like 10 time faster?
Of course reason why I separated the quotes from my explanation plus I linked my freaking source in the end of the article.
They are planning to release home internet with 5G ... https://www.theverge.com/2019/3/7/18254853/tmobile-sprint-merger-5g-home-internet-service-promises Like for real it just takes a quick google search.
do you mean 5Ghz wifi? 5G stands for 5th generation on mobile. if you mean 5Ghz then you're kinda late on that too since 5Ghz wifi has been around for a while now (i have it). PS4 only uses 2.4Ghz even though 5Ghz has been around since the console came out. although I could be completely wrong about what you meant Edit: i read it a little more and i think i know what you mean, but im still not sure how great this will be in comparison to ethernet. how much will this cost? etc is using a hotspot even stable enough for online gaming?
Yeah what you speak iz wifi 5 that we have now. Wifi 6 is about to come out same time as 5G network. They plan to compete to wifi by giving home internet services. They are debating if wifi. Will survive or not the 5G upgrade of network. Wifi 6 will give 40% better speed but its way behind 5G. And then 6G will probably kill wifi. If it survived this generation. To answer ps4. Overall network will signifiantly improve in coming years. And PS5 in around the corner
4G and its predecessors are targeted at mobile because of technical limitations, but the scope of 5G is much larger. The goal is to bridge mobile and home/office internet into a single offering using 5G technology. It's high bandwidth and low latency, but low range so you'll see access points going up every few hundred metres when the roll out begins (meaning it'll be a very urban offering for a while yet).
You're thinking of 5GHz. 5G is the 5th generation of wireless (mobile) networking, but with technical capabilities that are going to allow it to branch out into home/business internet. Imagine a bunch of beefy access points mounted every few hundred metres on telephone polls and buildings that provide the endpoints rather than those giant ass towers or running fibre lines all over the place.
Don’t forget, even if that did relate to WiFi or Ethernet, there’s a major difference between megabits (Mbit) and megabytes (MB). 100Mbps doesn’t mean you can download 100MB in one second.
