Same shit as the 19. Couple design change but still the dumbest NHL 19 in 20. Another year to complain about that lazzy game.
Total arcade fest. They don't give a shit about defense. Made everything worse. Basically going towards being a 3 vs 3 arcade game. Need to build from defense out. Even the visual aspect and commentating shows that they're gearing toward pure arcade hockey. Sure some things can be slowed down for final product but I everytive seen so far doesn't look or feel promising to me. But that's just me, so whatever. They'll continue putting out a game where they think offense is what ppl want and continue having matchmaking errors and lag that haven't been fixed since day 1 of the last game. Also for the love of God, bring back a view customization. If I want to zoom out further and at a different overhead angle then why can't I? It was there in Xbox 360, so why have they forgotten that feature? Also during matchmaking give us the option to see what we saw in lobby for 19. I want to see the builds, not wait for it to scroll back and forth between builds and player names.
Copy and pasted from another thread: My opinion: Game speed: great Shooting: great Passing: too slow but apparently fixed in full game Shot animations: hit or miss Puck pickups: improved but still annoying sometimes Defense: harder but rewards good positioning. You cannot skate backwards. Stick lift: kinda useless Pokes: fine Bumps/hitting: balanced Goalies: balanced General comments: game rewards speed and skill. Defense takes effort and idiots that relied on bumps in 19 are getting exposed. Final thought: solid foundation for a good game if they don’t fuck it up at launch
What's the point of giving feedback on this when they said this build is like 2 months old, and ton of stuff has been changed since? Tell them to extend the beta and release the latest build so we can actually give proper feedback to it since we know whats been already changed. But ya, the scoreclock at the bottom is fucking awful and huge even on "small". Goalies go into and get stuck in save animations on passes ALOT more than it already used to be in NHL 19. Is it that hard to program where pass=stay normal....shot=go into save animation? Also goalies lateral acceleration need to be increased, it seems like fwrds gotten even more lateral acceleation now than before so 1v1 or breakaways you better off flopping around doing desperation shit than actually shadowing the shooter like you are suppose to.
Though it’s probably been mentioned several times already... the scoreboard needs to be fixed. Have the option to make it much smaller and place in any corner of the screen as an overlay. Please no animations on the scoreboard either, gives me a seizure haha. Also, a custom camera option would be great to have back. This will quite obviously be nothing like the game that is released in September, as is apparent by the massive list of changes they have listed. EA does not have a good track record with changes or “tuning “ a game, so fingers crossed.
non-stop incidental contact making the puck bounce from player to player resulting in someone getting a lucky possession resulting in a goal? I can't do that for another full year. It's in the beta, I can't buy the game.
goalie takes skill this year. you cant just sit on your goal line and expect to make saves. dont wanna get short sided? overplay the shot or hold the post. Goalie should be hard
Goalie is hard. Especially when we get shit on & stuck on the post or bent over not being able to cover the puck no matter how many times we smash the shit out of the cover button. The animations are still brutal. Anyone who says goalies are over powered clearly hasn't played goalie & just want to walk through & score every time. Based on the old ass version of the beta that isn't even a current build, I won't be buying this pile of trash.
Goalies sat on goal line all year and made saves? I have goalies to apologize to. I must have been cheating...
The day I take “player build” advice from LG Mcduhnold is the day I quit video games. Can we send someone with a brain to Vancouver?
I had an issue in my first game I played. The opposing team took a pim and we had the puck. Our goalie left to go to the bench, we got the extra attacker but the other team was able to not only get the puck but skate down the ice and score on our empty net and then went on the pk after they went up a goal. I don't mind the scoreboard location but I cannot deal with the flashing while on the pp. Unt that's gone scoreboard is off. Passing seems to be overly sensitive to where you are pointing your stick. Moreso than in past years unless you turned pass assist way down intentionally. Other than that I am very happy with the product.
Everything seems to have improved even without a majority of the new real tech implemented. My bigeest take aways was the stanima seemed to drain a little too fast, the L2 is ok but would rather it be just like 19, the hip check seemed to take a half a second to initiate and my big pet pete is the button memory from a hit that never happens transitioning into a needless shot. All in all im satisfied with what i have seen so far and esspecially when i wasn't expecting much.
Goalies - animations still suck. Goalies don't kick pads out nearly enough even with 90 stat. Speaking of which, butterfly build is too good. Butterfly G shouldn't have higher base stats for glove high and stick high than hybrid. 6'5 180 butterfly has stupid good stats. Some of the attributes for skaters need tweaked. Easiest one I can think of is how DD has more base passing than a TWD which doesn't make sense. Scoreboard on bottom is dumb. Shot animations aren't unique at all. But overall, beta is solid
-I’m sure it has already been stated, but put the goalie in as a skater when he is pulled. The AI is embarrassing. -Balance the small forwards. Make it easier to bump them off the puck. I’m fine with the straight line, but a guy who has 10-20 lbs less weight cannot be hit... that being said defense should still have to be in good positioning, which the beta does well. -Keep Goalie as it is, but make the side to side movement with LB smooth like it is in 19. Like that goalies need to actually challenge people versus staying low.
