Hey guys, hyper back! Since you guys liked the first one, I am going to do the part 2 of this. Keep in mind that this is all opinion based. If you dont like it, then go cry about it and make your own. You want media? Then suck it up. Top 3 Highest Paid Players (Each position) Left Defense 1) Greggy x 74 - $8,250,000 Nort went a bit over the top on this bid here but for a good cause. He did have his main forward core returning and had room to spend on a top D this season. Only playing 2 games on the PSN side in LG, Greggy went 1-1 in the CHL. But his Xbox CHL stats definitely stand out. As we all know, Xbox players on the PSN side are treated like gods. No matter if you're average or a god, you're considered a beast on this console. In my opinion, I think the Xbox CHL has the talent of the PSN AHL, maybe just a tad bit more talent. Therefore, Greggy SHOULD and WILL have a great season, especially under Nort's management. 2) Royalkc85 - $6,500,000 CHL management with a CHL mindset. I know this isn't Royal's fault but come on... 3) Smitterr - $6,500,000 Smitter was originally a Forward but is now switching to D. He did play D S11 in the NHL going 10-8. His forward stats however in the NHL were solid, but that was way back.. This is a big question mark for me. Never seen this dude play NHL 20. Maybe Mattyice knows something we don't? Right Defense 1) Zwigggy_ - $7,750,000 Like I said before, this is the price range you're probably going to spend on top D in any bidding. Zwiggy is definitely NHL caliber. Last season in the NHL was the only season he had more losses than wins. I think this is worth the price. Good job Ontario. Zwiggy is sick and will carry the defense. 2) threet38 - $5,250,000 Definitely a solid RD in the AHL league. I think he might be worth the price. Solid AHL stats but last season he only played 3 games in the AHL and 1 game in the NHL. Whats going on there? If he has bad avail, this isnt worth the price. If hes 9/9, hes worth it. 3) NowYoDead - $5,000,000 I don't think this price is good for him. I mean, yea he had a solid last season but is he going to be consistent? This leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Goalie 1) TheBipolarJew69 - $2,750,000 Decent NHL season for bipolar last season. He does have the NHL experience. Bipolar hasnt played an AHL game since S4, holy smokes.. But 2.7m for a goalie? I mean, you do you. Not a fan of such a huge goalie contract like this. 2) Mad_Luigi_QC - $2,250,000 40 wins in the CHL last season for this dude, woah... Great season for luigi. No idea who this guy is but if he can do that this season, he'd be worth this price. As of right now, AHL is so much more different and diverse than CHL. Big question mark here. 3) ciulla19 - $2,250,000 ciulla19 is a very very solid goaltender. This team has a 1/1a goaltending situation. Thats a great situation. I know ciulla well and he plays sick when hes in the zone. Lets hope he can carry hershey. But as for the price, meh.. I mean like I said, I am not a fan when it comes to spending more than 1-1.5m on a goalie. Like these articles and want more? Motivate me! Rate this post
Good work Hyper, cool and fair post. A couple things: 1. Smitter's natural/original position is D, hes a D man first but has started playing alot of C recently. 2. BiPolarJew imo would be the best G in the AHL by alot, but.. he is only available Sundays so that makes the contract really ugly 3. Fair assessment on Greggy, I think he'll show hes worth the price this season. AHL MEDIA BACK
Thanks for the feedback! 1. I was going through his stats and didn't even see his Xbox stats! Didn't even know! My fault for this, thanks for the heads up. 2. I think this would be opinionated. Don't get me wrong, Bipolar is very good, but imo I dont like spending high on contracts for G's. Especially with todays game... Maybe hes the best G in the A, maybe not, but I hate the price. 3. My media isn't biased, I keep it 100% and real.
Very good write up. Wish ypu would go team to team. I already know you think i suck but im interested on a team to team basis on how you feel.
I think that price range is more realistic in previous seasons. We all knew defense was going to go high this season due to NHL claiming a bunch of AHL guys. We saw lots of guys who would normally max out at 1.5M go for well over 3M this season. Given the market value for D men this season, I feel Royal's 6.5M value is very close. But having said that, any amount this high on one player always hits your cap hard.
